   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great Homecoming week.  Today's Schedule Period 1: 8:30 am - 9:12 am Period 2: 9:16 am - 9:58 am Advisory: 10:02 am - 10:15 am Homecoming Olympics/Pep Rally: 10:30 am - Noon Lunch: Noon to 1:00 pm Parade Line Up: 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm Parade: 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm Freshman Football: 4:15 pm Varsity Football: 7:00 pm When students are dismissed to the gym, please sit with your grade level. Do not stand in the entry ways of the gym.  On October 7, there will be a college fair held at the convention center. We will be allowing Juniors and Seniors to attend from 1 to 2:30 pm. There will be a couple of busses that will take students up there and will bring them back. We do not want students driving up there unless they are going with a parent.  On October 29, the counselors will be taking our Juniors to Western Iowa Tech. All Juniors will attend, but it they miss the bus or don't want to participate they wil...

  Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...

    Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. We have been seeing an increase of illness around the school. Please make sure you are taking care of yourself and if you need to stay home because you are sick, please do so. Don't worry about if you are covered, that is my job to figure it out.  The counselors will be taking our Juniors to Western Iowa Tech on October 29. All Juniors will attend, but it they miss the bus or don't want to participate they will be in class.  Homecoming is right around the corner. We will have our homecoming activities similar to last year, but hopefully leave off the fire alarms going off. Students will report to advisory, take attendance and then bring them to the competition gym when announced over the intercom. Students will sit with their grade.     Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. Adam and I were talking this week about the noticiable difference in this year's freshman class compared to last year. Hopefully we didn't jinx ourselves.  We have our first day of professional development on Wednesday. CIA will send out an agenda next week to let you know what to expect. Hopefully you have been working with your retrieval practice on the 4 power tools for the Science of Learning. If not, we will be having some spaced practice with some interleaving.    Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great first full week of school. I know I am a little more tired than I have been in a while. Fortunately we have a 3 day weekend. I want to thank everyone for hitting our policies hard with the students. If we continue to do this, the rest of the year will be much easier. I am taking cell phones and earbuds from students when I see them with them in the hallway during class time. My guess is the students didn't believe we would do this.  I think the start of the year has gone very smoothly, this in large part due to all of you. Again, thank you for all you do for our students.  With the start of September, we do have 2 building in-service days this month. CIA will send agendas out to the staff the week we have those inservices.  Those of you that teach concurrent classes, please remember to have the students sign the waiver from WIT so we can talk with parents.   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week !  First off, thank you for all your work and attention during our professional development on Wednesday. This is something I appreciate about all of you on how you all want to improve your craft and your willingness to try new strategies. I would like to thank CIA for organizing our journey learning about the Science of Learning. Thank you to MTSS for the work on the EWS and getting the advisory activities organized and to the staff. I also want to thank Mr. Moss for his work on developing the ethics training and the discipline refresher. I just wanted to give a few reminders and items I may have forgotten to talk about on Tuesday. Monday we will run the first day of school schedule.
