Friday Focus

Happy Friday! Thank you for all of your assistance during homecoming week and then we started this week out pretty busy on Monday too, Sophomore and Senior class meetings, college fair, and then parent/teacher conferences. I need to remember not to schedule so much around homecoming.

If you didn't get a chance to make it down the college fair, it was a successful event. Not only did many of our students go through, but lots of other area high school students. A big thanks to Judd, Melissa, and Amy organizing this event. We are looking for a date in the spring to do a career fair that would follow the same format as the college fair. The career fair will be open to more students from our building. Judd and I will look at the calendar to try and find dates between the winter and spring sport seasons, stay tuned.

I have been working on expanding our formal internship/apprenticeship agreements with our local industries. Currently I am working with a couple of our local banks to create an opportunity for students to intern in the teller position. So far it has been met with excitement. The plan is to make this available to the students for the 27-28 school year.

Assistant Principal's Happenings

Thank you for all of your work to make Homecoming a success!

Doc and I are kicking around making Dance Duty a required rotation -- if we did this, it would be approximately every 4 years that you would be assigned to chaperone either the HoCo or Winter Dance.  This would be separate from Prom duty.  We had approximately 430 kids at this year's Homecoming dance(!) -- we need more help to make sure it continues to be safe and orderly.  This duty would count as your Homecoming week duty.

AI Guidelines Check-in:  Mark your calendar for next Friday, Oct 16.  I will be coming around to your combined prep period to talk about the AI Guidelines.

Some things to discuss:
*How things are going with the AI Scale and Guidelines.

*How we are teaching kids about these things and proper AI usage

*The "baseline document" that you started on in August

*Ideas you have regarding how students could cite their AI usage

*Any concerns or ideas you have

3rd hour: World Languages in Bowmaster's room

4th hour: English in Richey's room

6th hour: Soc Studies in Borcher's room

7th hour: Math in Westhoff's room

8th hour: Science in Dunn's room

This can count for your PLC time for next week.

If you aren't part of a combined prep, (CTE, PE, Art, Music) feel free to hop into one of those groups or talk to me individually.
