Friday Focus
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.
I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits.
Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.
On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.

On October 29, the counselors will be taking our Juniors to Western Iowa Tech. All Juniors will attend, but it they miss the bus or don't want to participate they will be in class.

Assistant Principal's Happenings
Things I'm Reminded Of: Now that we are at Q1 Midterm, this is a good time to review which students have IEPs, 504s, and Medical Alerts in your classes in PowerSchool. Of course we prepare to start the year -- but now that the dust has settled and we are in a groove, it is a good time to make sure we aren't missing anything in these regards. If you have questions, please let me know.
Things I Love to See: With 13 subs in the building on Wednesday, I am thankful for how you are pre-teaching behavior with your students. As a building, you are consistently talking with students ahead of time what your expectations are for substitutes before you are gone. This includes behavior, procedures, general expectations, etc. Thank you. This is a Boys Town strategy that you are using effectively.
Homecoming Duties: I will be sending out reminders regarding HoCo duties soon. Coronation is Monday night this year, not Tuesday.
