Happy Homecoming Friday! Just a reminder, classes will be dismissed after 4th period today. Coronation starts at 1:00 pm in the competition gym and the parade will start shortly after coronation finishes. Festivities continue as the freshmen football team takes on Webster City at 4:15, followed by the varsity at 7:00. The day concludes with the homecoming dance in Carry Gym starting at 9:00.
Starting Monday, we will need to get the dress code going again. Please help us be consistent when enforcing. If a student refuses to follow what you ask, let Mr. Formanek or myself know and we will escalate it, please don't escalate the situation in front of other students.
The LCS Foundation is taking nominations for Employee of the Month again. Please take the time to nominate one of your peers. Nomination forms can be found here: http://www.lemarscsd.org/?page_id=692, just scroll down to Misc Forms.
Looking ahead, we have an evac drill on Wednesday. We are also hosting a flu shot clinic on Oct. 12. Please refer to email sent by Mrs. Lias for how to sign up. We also have our second evac drill on Oct. 5. Parent/Teacher conferences will be coming up quickly also. They are on Oct. 6 and 10 from 5 to 8:30.
Have a great weekend! Cheer on Oklahoma as they take on TCU on Saturday. I am thinking you all didn't cheer hard enough last Saturday when OU came in second place. I know you can all do better, game time is at 11:00 am.

Assistant Principal's Happenings
It's Homecoming Day! Please remind Freshman they can leave after 4th hour and do not have to stay for lunch. I had a lot of confused looks today when I was talking to many of them. We will have many students out and about with different activities. Student Council members should be the only ones allowed to go to the new gym to help with setting up Coronation. We may let some students in study hall come but that would be it. Royalty Members need to be in 1st and 2nd hours minimum tomorrow to participate and they are well aware of this. Some Football and Cheerleaders will also be at the elementary buildings for part of the day. Please keep attendance up to date tomorrow and if you are unsure about a student please make sure you contact the office.
We have had a few minor instances of vandalism in the bathrooms recently. Please remember everyone should have a sign-out sheet in your rooms that students need to be filling out when leaving the room. Tell your students they need to report any vandalism- even minor, right now it is mostly things written in sharpie, so we can determine a timeline. The cameras have been a huge help in determining when students are not where they are supposed to be when they leave the room.
So far this week has been very busy but I did have a bit of joy handing out the bright yellow vests for the parade supervisors during 6th hour. Reminder for workers- if you are setting up the parade route be there at 1:30 and keep it as close together as possible to keep things moving smoothly. The parade supervisors need to be at your locations by 2:15 to set up the cones and direct traffic away from the route. If you are cleaning up Coronation, we will have Student Council Members return after the parade and take care of that. Please move your vehicles if you park in the staff parking in the parking lot after school as we line-up the convertibles there. Thank you for everyone that signed up to help!
