Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. Just a reminder that requisitions for 22-23 school year need to be completed.   I have also scheduled numbers meetings with each department / subject area. If for some reason I have missed you, please get a hold of me. Mr. Kopperud and Mrs. Hill will be working on creating the master schedule this year.  I do need summer maintenance request. You can send me your summer maintenance, I am slowly making it around the building to look at rooms for any types of maintenance issues. If it something that needs to be fixed now, please make the request using the maintenance@lemarscsd.org email address. That will go to the maintenance staff. With the short week, it seems like I have been scrambling the last 2 days. Just some dates to keep in mind, end of trimester 2 is on February 28, grades will be due on March 7. The end of the 3rd quarter is on March 14. Quarter grades will be due on March 15. Report cards w...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. Just a reminder that requisitions for 22-23 school year need to be completed. I will start scheduling number meetings next week. Judd and Melissa have done a great job getting the students registered for next year. At the time I am writing this, only 8 students have not registered out of 698.  We will be offering some new electives next year. Officer Vickery will be teaching an Intro to Criminal Justice class 2nd semester, Mr. Prichard will be teaching Music Appreciation and Music Theory w/Ear Training/Sight Singing. There will also be an Applied Music class that will work as an independent study course where the student will have a recital. Another new elective next year will be Business Ethics and will be taught by Mrs. Wright. We do have some people moving to different positions next year, Mr. Bork will be taking over at the Alternative School for Mrs. Theisen, Mrs. Schindel is moving into the new Special Ed...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. It is starting to get to that time of year when requisitions will be due for next school year. I will be putting some information in your mailboxes today about the weblink process and due dates. If you know you will need some supplies locally, ie for labs from Walmart, please email me on a dollar total to set aside. Keep in mind my funding is limited, so I may not be able to approve everything. We are also getting to the time for summer maintenance. Please look around your room to see if something needs to be repaired or replaced or if your room needs to be painted. We do have several projects that will be taking place this summer. We will be getting a new HVAC system, so all the classrooms in the hallway by the office will be getting new units and the units on the roof will be replaced. This will allow us to circulate fresh air instead of recycled air. The other big project will be the installation of cameras in the hall...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week.  I wanted to start getting some dates out there so you are able to plan for the rest of the school year. The Seniors last day of class will be on May 13. They will have semester test on May 16 and 17. Graduation practice will be on May 18. Kyle and I will be meeting with Seniors on Monday during advisory to go over this with them.  For all the other grades, the semester tests will be on May 24 and 25. We will be giving ISASP during the week of April 25. The writing test will be on April 27 and the block days will be on April 28 and 29. The reading, math, and science test will be given in the the English, math and sophomore science class. The writing test was changed to only one writing prompt, so the time recommendation changed from 120 minutes to 75 minutes. So that means I'll be coming up with a new schedule for the writing test. There are a few other changes you need to be aware of with the ISASP. The reading ...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. Thank you for your work during the extra hour meeting. The process of the lesson study will become easier as we get more practice with it. During the next extra hour meeting, on Feb. 2, the next one in line will present their lesson for review and comment. Then before Feb. 16 he/she would have taught the lesson. Then on the 16th, the reflection form and data from the lesson will need to be presented to the group to help fine tune the lesson.  Mrs. Hill and Mr, Kopperud are wrapping up the registration talks this week. Next week they will start registering students. Hopefully by the end of the month, I can have department meetings to go over the numbers.  Congrats to Mr. Ewing on his retirement. We did have a tear fest in the commons after he told the students on Wednesday. I was talking with one student trying to console her. I told her I will get her the best choir teacher I can. She replied, "I don't want the best, I...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. As you can tell, we have had a number of kids out sick this week. It is important to make sure your Schoology site is kept up to date, so students can see what they are missing. Let your classes know that you expect them to check the site if they are able to. If they do not have internet access, we do still have access points available. There are some requirements they need to meet though in order to get one of those access points.  For those that have not heard, Mrs. Permeswaran and Mr. Fitzgerald have both decided to retire at the end of the school year. We are in the process of setting up interviews for the English position. Another staff change for next year is that Mrs.  Schindel will be moving to Special Education. She will be taking the new position that we tried to fill for this semester. We did start to advertise Mr. Fitzgerald's position, so if you know any American History/Sociology teachers encourage them to apply...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone had a great week. Thank you for your work in the first lesson study. There was some confusion on what was to take place. On Wednesday, we will meet in the library at 2:00 and CIA will give some examples of what the presentation part should look like and questions that can be discussed. They will also go over the reflection part as well. After the CIA presentation, you will go back to your departments to work on your curriculum. Some of you will want to look at and update pacing guides, others will want to work on updating essential learnings, while others will be working on your units. As you do this work, we will use the PLC framework as a guide. A big thank you to those that helped fill in this week. I have been trying not to use any of you during your planning period to fill in when we are short subs. So far, I have been lucky to move some study halls around or Judd, Melissa, Cliff, Kyle, or myself have covered. So just know if we ask you to cover durin...
