Happy Friday! Everyone has made it through the full first week of school. Thank you for all you have done to provide our students with a top notch education. We have our first building in-service on  Wednesday, September 12th at 7:00 am . During this first meeting your group will have one task to complete. 1. Go over your group norms from last year and make revisions if necessary. Just a reminder that your Tier 2 plans are due today. Please upload that document to the team drive I shared with you. To access it, go to drive, then click on team. During our extra hour meeting on September 26, Joy Gonnerman, will be joining us to talk about ENDS or Electronic Nicotine Devices. She will have some examples of JUUL devices. These are becoming more and more popular among teens. The really look like usb drives. It always amazes me on how quickly everyone gets back into the normal routine. We have had a good start to the school year. Keep pushing the students to reach higher than they th...

Happy Friday! Again, welcome back to everyone. You have survived your first day of school for another year. Thank you for your dedication as we strive to provide the best education to our students. On Wednesday, the students will be receiving their ALICE training. All meetings will take place in the Little Theater. Juniors will be during 1st, Seniors during 2nd, Sophomores during 3rd, and Freshmen during 4th. Tell your students to report to the Little Theater during the assigned time. If a student misses his/her assigned time, but is here during another period I do want him/her to attend one of the other periods.  I just want to take a moment to go over some of the reminders that we skimmed over at the staff meeting on Monday. Don't forget grades need to be updated every Monday at 8:30 am for the previous week. Obviously, if you have a large project, I don't expect you to spend all weekend grading them so the grades can be updated. But timely feedback is important...

Happy Friday! It is graduation weekend! A big thank you to Beth Collins, Amy Davis, Amy Schmidt and Lisa Eisma for getting everything ready for graduation and the senior awards ceremony. Much of what they do is under a big time crunch since the awards program was moved to Wednesday night. Amy D. basically has the afternoon of Wednesday to finalize our top 10 percent and the other academic awards.  We will run advisory on the 21st and 29th. On the 29th, please have the students complete their S2 goal summary sheet. Also on the 29th, we will let students out at 3:15 to clean lockers. Please be outside your rooms and sign off on lockers. Make sure all tape has been removed and their is nothing left in the locker. For those of you near the middle school, please make sure our students don't go down there until the bell rings at 3:30. Neal and I will be floating around and will try to assist with that as well. Thank you for those responsible for organizing the retirement dinner Tue...

Thank you to Julie and Michelle for working with these students and helping them along their journey. For those who were unable to attend the ILC graduation ceremony, you missed one of the nicest celebrations I have been able to be a part of or witness. Thank you to the teachers who took the time to write a letter to the graduates and then come ...

Happy Friday! I don't know where this week went, it seems we were just getting ready to start the week, now we are ending the week. Thank you for your work during our extra hour meeting. We do have our final one of the year this Wednesday. Reminder at 7:30 in the middle school auditorium on Wednesday there will be an insurance meeting. Our final district in-service day will be on May 16. We will meet in the high school library and will do our Iowa Assessment analysis. I will have you meet in department groups. Mrs. Hill is only able to order 5 test booklets of each grade level, so we are going to have to share tests. Math teachers will look at the math subtests, Science teachers will look at the science subtest, and everyone else will look at the reading subtests.  We are getting closer to the Seniors last day of school. Next week will be their last full week. Their final day will be on May 14 with semester tests on May 15 and 16. Reminder if you want Mr. Martin to proctor seni...
