Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week! As we close out April, we begin the last month of the school year. These last 19 days of school will go by fast. Just to review dates, the seniors last day of normal class is May 14, semester tests will be on the 17 and 18th. Grades will be due May 19 at 7:30 am. Graduation breakfast is at 9, with practice to follow at 10. The senior awards ceremony will also be on the 19th at 6:30 pm in the MS Auditorium.

Just a reminder about he PLC workshop in August. Please respond to Mrs. Leavitt's email about attending. PLC's will be the focus for our PD activities again. You will learn about classroom data collection and using that data to drive your instruction, guide our PLC discussions, and help identify department level PD needed. I can't stress the importance of us being on the same page, so please try to attend the 2 day workshop. 

This is your last call to turn your contracts into me. I will take them today, But on Monday and Tuesday, you will need to deliver to Central Office. They are due on May 4. Semester test for grades 9-11 is on May 26 and 27. We will run our Semester 1 test schedule since their is not an early out on May 27. 

Close out the year strong, and keep your expectations on the students. The one nice thing about the cooler weather is that it keeps the students focused a little better.

ISASP are next week, please remind the seniors of the writing test on May 4 in advisory. They will not need to be in school until 10:25. The other tests will be given during the students' Math, English, or Science classes on Thursday or Friday.

The writing test will be taken in advisory on Tuesday, May 4. This will be for grades 9-11 only, Seniors will have an open during the writing test. The reading, math, and science exams will be taken in the English, Math, and Biology classes. We will run a block schedule on Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7. Even classes will be on Thursday, odd classes will be Friday. All students will have an open lunch on Thursday and Friday. 

For those of you planning for next year, we will be ending Semester 1 on December 21. First quarter dates will be 8/25 - 10/20, 2nd quarter 10/21- 12/21, 3rd quarter 1/4 - 3/14, and 4th quarter 3/15 - 5/25. Trimester 1 will be 8/25 - 11/17, Tri 2 11/18 - 2/28, and Tri 3 3/1 - 5/25.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. On Monday pizza will be provided for lunch, Tuesday - from Central Office - Wednesday - Fruit, Thursday - Donuts, and Friday - Pulled pork lunch.

Assistant Principal's Happenings

I will be sharing the Preliminary list for Seniors who will be required to take their Semester Tests.  Please keep that document confidential but you will need to let the kids know who have to take each test.  I put your name with each student so it should be easy to figure out who will need to take them for your classes.  If you have any questions about the document please let me know.  I will share out a Final List next week Friday and a Preliminary one for Freshman-Juniors as well.

We have sent in the Student-Handbook updates for this next year to be approved.  Once those are approved, I will share that out with everyone to look over for changes we will implement next year.  A lot of these are in response to Covid-19 and how we believe students will be impacted moving forward.  

Please encourage students to finish on a strong note with their grades and with ISASP's.  We are reaching the end quickly and those that have been unmotivated seem to be slacking more lately.  If you have Seniors who are in Jeopardy, please contact parents.  We need to make sure they understand that their child is not putting in the necessary work to be successful.

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...
