Happy Friday! I hope everyone had an enjoyable short week, back to normal weeks from here on out. I have had a few questions about the ISASP. The writing test will be taken in advisory on Tuesday, May 4. The reading, math, and science exams will be taken in the English, Math, and Biology classes. We will run a block schedule on Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7. Even classes will be on Thursday, odd classes will be Friday. All students will have an open lunch on Thursday and Friday. 

On April 28, we will be giving the annual Conditions for Learning survey to the students. This is a requirement by the state. Please encourage the students to give honest feedback on the survey. We will be running a different schedule that day. We will want to make sure the students are aware that they need to pick up their computers before heading to 1st period. They will be considered late at 8:25.

Prom is on Saturday, the weather forecast looks good. Please refer to Nancy's email regarding times of events. We are streaming the grand march so if you are not working, you can catch that on the Bulldog Video Media channel.  

During our in-service on April 14, we will be meeting in the library to start off and Kristen Fober will lead us in a session on ELL strategies. Bruce Ludwig is also going to address the staff on technology updates for next school year. After the session is done, you will have time to work on your curriculum or meet as a department to discuss the coming weeks or start planning for next year. 

Looking ahead, April 16 will be the 4th quarter midterm date. All PASS Plans need to be completed by this date.

Assistant Principal's Happenings

It is already Friday! I spent time updating attendance contracts and tardies this week.  Please remind students that they do get consequences from the office for tardies.  Right now we have 24 students that have 5 or more tardies in a class and will be getting consequences if they haven't yet.  Attendance Contracts are still down from last year even with a month more of school.  Not having Covid dates count against kids has made a big impact on them.  

Most remote learners are on track to finish their courses.  I will be sending out a final formal reminder for them to complete the work before the end of the year as they will not get extended time. We will likely have a few that do not finish and will be behind on credits.  If you know of any students that are remote, please feel free to send an encouraging email to keep working to finish on time.

I sent out a reminder a few weeks ago but please make sure you are checking that students have the correct Chromebooks and chargers.  I would recommend doing this two or three times before the end of the year.  Students will be responsible for up to $300 if they do not turn in their assigned Chromebook and charger.

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...
