Happy Friday! Well we survived prom! Thank you to Mrs. Isebrand and Mrs. Ludwig for organizing the grand march and dance. Thank you to Mr. Wingert for streaming the event. And thank you to those that helped supervise. For the most part the kids did a decent job with keeping their masks on. I am sure the ones that give you trouble in the classroom with them were the same ones that we had to talk with at the dance.

Reminder you can put your signed contracts on the basket on my desk and I'll send them over to Central Office. They are due on May 4.

Conditions For Learning Survey Info

On April 28, we will be giving the annual Conditions for Learning survey to the students. This is a requirement by the state. Please encourage the students to give honest feedback on the survey. We will be running a different schedule that day. We will want to make sure the students are aware that they need to pick up their computers before heading to 1st period. They will be considered late at 8:25. The students do not have this schedule, so please post it so they know what is happening this day.

Assistant Principal's Happenings

It is the final Midterm of the School Year!  Overall, our students have been sitting in pretty good academic position this year with fewer F's than last year.  However, we have a couple dozen Seniors that are really falling behind.  While we will talk to them and take their Opens, it is up to them to figure out they only have four weeks left to meet their graduation requirements.  Please make sure you are encouraging all students to keep working hard and finish off the year on a good note.  If you have a Senior that is in jeopardy please talk to them and their parents so they understand the consequences they may face if they don't pass their classes.

Please talk about Semester Tests in your classes.  Go over the reasons students will have to take them: Any grades at the end of a quarter with a D+ or lower, 5 or more absences, 6 tardies, any truants, including advisory, or any suspensions.  Also, if a student isn't required to take the test, they still can and it won't hurt their grade if they happen to not do well on it.  Please let them know about the tests being on Wednesday, May 26th, and Thursday, May 27th.   An important thing to consider about Semester Tests is that we will likely have a few kids quarantined that need to take them.  These kids will be expected to take them just as we have had that expectation all year.  Please be ready to share a remote alternative test with them that still checks their understanding of the concepts taught in class.

Ideas from the library/video class/student council

If you get a chance to tune into the musical, please do. I was able to witness the dress rehearsal last night, and it is really great. It may not be a familiar one, but there are elements of familiar plays, stories, and musicals you should be able to identify. The cast and crew (and Mrs. & Mr. Ohrlund as well as Kjersten Rathke) do a stupendous job. Tune in either night on YouTube on LeMars Livestream. Just wanted to say thanks to the prom sponsors and the junior prom decorating crew! They did a fabulous job. Bulldog Bites features some of prom highlights, including the hypnotist, so enjoy. https://youtu.be/v6PlGxNqb-k
