Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. This will be the Friday Focus for this week and next since we don't have school next Friday. As we finish the first week in April, the days for this school year are numbered. Please remind seniors that their last day of class is on May 13. (I bet they don't need to be reminded about this, but more about getting their work done before then.) Seniors will take their semester tests on May 16 and 17. May 18 will be the graduation practice and awards night. Seniors will need to have all their credits by May 18 otherwise they will not be walking at graduation on Sunday. If you have a senior failing a class, please discuss what they need to do to get a passing grade soon. I do not like to notify parents that their son/daughter may not graduate. It does create a level of stress for the parents and the student. 

We will be doing the Evac drill on Monday at 10:30, the third time is the charm. We also get out one hour early on Wednesday. No School on Thursday, Friday, and Monday.

Remember when we come back from break, we will be giving the Conditions of Learning Survey on the 20th. Please reinforce to your advisory's that this isn't the time to vent frustrations of an incident, but to look at the whole student experience for the entire school year. Assistant Principal's Happenings

Another week of illness in my house with hand, foot, and mouth for my youngest, and torn tendons in my oldest's knee.  Every weekend, I really think we have made a turn and then it seems like something else comes up but I'm trying to stay positive and stay ahead of work as much as possible.   I know my desk has been a casualty of that lately and it took 20 minutes of searching to find a document I had been missing after school today.  Thank you for your patience as I work to get to the student concerns this week.  I should be able to meet with everyone that had a concern by tomorrow.

I shared an early version of the semester test required for students.  I will be updating this as there are several mistakes that we are working out with students.  The ones with grades, tardies, and suspensions will likely not change but some of the truants and attendance may be incorrect.  I will send out a Final Version for Seniors around May 9th and a Final for the rest of the students the following week.  Please tell students in private if they will need to take a test.  Keeping more students off the list for the remainder of the year is my other goal for sharing this early so please encourage students who are not on the list to keep grades up and not skip any classes.

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...
