Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week! We will be wrapping up ISASP for another year today. On Monday, Mrs. Hill will have the students start making up tests they missed for one reason or the other.
We do have lots of subs in the building today. Please help out if needed, especially with the block schedule.
A big shout out to all those that helped organize and supervise at prom this year. I thought the event went off really well and the decorations were very nice. Another bonus is the students behaved really good. I had numerous comments from parents that worked after prom about how well mannered the students were.
Senior are down to 10 days of school left. Their last day will be May 13, then semester tests on the 16 and 17. Tests on the 17th need to be done by the end of 4th period. I will need final senior grades due at 4:00 pm that day. This will give Mrs. Davis a day to finish the academic awards for that night.
For all the other students, the last day of class will be on May 24. Semester tests will be on May 25 & 26. Refer to the bell schedule on the hs website. The 25 will be semester 2 test day 1 and the 26th will be semester 2 test day 2. Note periods 1, 2, 5, 6, & 7 will test on the 25th and periods 3, 4, & 8 will be on the 26th.
For those that will be working graduation this year, I will be sending out information in the near future. The final determination on if it will be outside or inside will be made on May 19. The hope is to continue graduation outside at the stadium.
It seems that the days keep getting busier and busier as different activities wrap up. Please keep that in mind when planning tests or other projects for the reminder of the semester.
Looking ahead, the top 10 of the senior class will be attending the Rotary lunch on May 3. We have our last district in-service on May 4. May 16-20, the state is celebrating college decision week. That Wednesday, May 18, please wear something from your alma mater.
With teacher appreciation week happening next week, Kyle and I will be providing lunch on Friday. I am sorry to say it won't be my normal pulled pork and beans, you can get this at Tyler's graduation party if you are missing it that much.
Have a great weekend!

I want to give everyone a head's up on Summer School for this year. For students that are in a position to earn credit with our credit recovery (which means they can still complete course work) we will be using Schoology to collect those assignments and assign them to students. Mr. Bahr will be working on that and we will send out more information when it is ready. We also have Mr. Berkenpas from the middle school to help with everything but specifically with math credits that can be recovered. The online math program is simply not the same as classroom instruction so if those can be recovered that is the way we would like to go. We have significantly more kids failing at this point than typical. Please be reaching out to those students and parents in the final month so they do not need to have summer school as an option.
I have wrapped up Evaluations this year with one more planned next week. If you are on my roster please give me some times next week or the week after to go over your Summative Evaluations. Thank you to everyone for sharing some great lessons and learning from the students.
As Dr. Iverson had mentioned, seniors are down to 10 more days of regular class. Please remind them to stay respectful and complete any last minute work they need to so they can graduate with their class. I have been working with the final Attendance Contract students and they have been all making progress so we I'm hopeful attendance won't be a factor impacting their graduation status. Grades are the other important factor, Dr. Iverson has been meeting with them one on one and reaching out to parents for those in danger of failing but if you have some students that are close to that point please let us know so we can help encourage them to finish strong.
