Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We are definitely in the home stretch of the school year. Seniors after today will have 15 days of class. Reminder their last day is May 13, semester tests are on May 16 and 17. I would like to have all tests done by the end of 4th period on the 17th. Students will take the test with their teacher. Senior Grades will be due at 8:00 am on May 18 so Amy can figure out the final awards for that night.
On Monday, I do need to meet with the seniors during advisory. We will meet in the little theater to go over the end of year stuff and talk about graduation. I will have the seniors report directly to the little theater. If you have seniors for advisory, I would appreciate it if you would come down there also. Please also remind seniors to check their email for the graduation survey Amy Schmidt emailed to them. This needs to be completed.
Thank you for you work during inservice. In my journey to the different groups I heard some good conversations. Reminder if you want to get paid for 12 hours of work during the month of June please fill out the form and make sure you sign it then get it to me. I will then sign it and get you a copy so you have that to turn into Mrs. Leavitt when you have the 12 hours done. This time is for you to work on your curriculum. If you teach the same class as another teacher, we would like this to be collaborative. Singleton teachers don't need to worry about this.
Next week we take the ISASP on Wednesday - Friday. Wednesday will be the writing test and will follow the ISASP Writing schedule. Freshmen will need to stay here for lunch on that day. Thursday and Friday will be the Reading, Math, and Science ISASP and we will use the ISASP Block schedule. Thursday will be the odd periods and Friday will be the evens. All students will have open lunch that day.
Looking ahead to next week, Wednesday is our last extra hour meeting for the school year. The Foundation Banquet is Wednesday night. Tickets for this can be purchased at Central Office from Lisa.
Have a great weekend!
Assistant Principal's Happenings
Prom is tomorrow, the Grand March starts at 7:30 if you want to see all the students dressed up. They are getting things together tomorrow and hopefully, you can allow those students that dedicated their time to be able to work on Friday to help put the rest together if they are caught up with everything in class. I know they had to deal with pandemic delays just like many other things this year to get in their final decorations delivered. Thank you to all the work that has gone into it so far and to all the workers that get to spend their Saturday night there!
I handed out 2/3 of the tardies detentions yesterday for this semester so far and will finish the rest today. I updated the list and highlighted any new tardies in yellow, luckily there were not too many newcomers to the list. If you have students that request to make up time please remember to email me so I can document it. We have 4 Seniors with over 10 hours to make up for attendance contracts some of you may know who they are so encourage them to make up that time so they can walk at graduation.
I have quite a few students who keep asking me if they have to take finals or not. Please make it clear that you have talked to those who need to take them and that the next list will not come until May 9th for Seniors and May 16th for the rest of the students. Please remind them if they want to stay off of those lists, to keep grades up, only miss school if they are sick (those days do not count against them), and don't skip any classes or do anything to get in trouble before the end of the year.
