Happy Friday! Today is my traditional longest work day of the year. As we wrap up homecoming week, thank you to those that participated in the dress up days. I don't know if the staff or students did a better job with the roll out of bed and come to school. With the 7 am meeting that day, I think it may have been the staff.
Classes will dismiss today after 4th period. Student Council will be dismissed to the competition gym after 1st period to start decorating for coronation. Football players and cheerleaders will be going to the elementary schools like in past years. Coronation will start at 1 and the parade will follow. Hopefully close to 2:00 pm. It would be great to see the staff at coronation. I know some of you do have parade lineup duty.
The LCS Foundation is taking nominations for Employee of the Month again. The last person was recognized in February 2019. Please take the time to nominate one of your peers. Nomination forms can be found here: http://www.lemarscsd.org/?page_id=692, just scroll down to Misc Forms.
At midterm, there are 24 seniors failing one or more classes. I will be meeting with them next week to try and give them a wakeup call about graduation. For grades 9-11, there are 137. Remember you need to have a PASS Plan for those students who are at risk of failing completed before November 17.
Looking ahead, we will be hosting the flu shot clinic on Oct. 5. Please refer to email sent by Mrs. Lias for how to sign up. We also have our second evac drill on Oct. 5. Parent/Teacher conferences will be coming up quickly also. They are on Oct. 7 and 12 from 5 to 8:30.
Enjoy your weekend!

Assistant Principal's Happenings
Thank you for the extra help this week as I was out a few days with a couple of sick kids. It's been easy to forget what other illnesses like RSV are like when we have only been thinking about Covid for the past year and a half. They are finally doing a little better and should be back to daycare next week.
Homecoming is today! I sent out the following link to every student but I am asking everyone to read it 1st hour so all students hear it. Thank you all for taking duties and helping students celebrate their Homecoming Week. Please check out the Coronation and Parade if you are around!
Planners are finally here! Please stop outside my office before Advisory on Monday and grab one for each student in your Advisory. Encourage students to look over the policies and see if they have questions for you about anything.
We did drop four students from rosters this week due to lack of Attendance. We did worry this could happen as students had varying experiences last year due to Covid-19. All four of these students had disrupted education last year. I encourage everyone to keep making connections with students so we can stop this trend. Encourage students to get involved and feel part of the school system so they desire to finish rather than decide to drop out.
We will be sending out Evaluation reminders next week. The list can be found on Dr. Iverson's PD site too. Please be thinking of times for me to start coming into the classroom.
Have a great weekend!
