Happy Friday! The end of this week kind of snuck up on me for some reason. Don't forget to get our second vaccine shot tonight if you are scheduled. 

The end of the 3rd quarter is next Friday, 3/12. Grades will be due on Monday, 3/15 at 8:00 am. I will store the quarter grades and then Amy will run the report cards. At that time, I will be sending senior at-risk letters home. Please make sure you have comments for students who are not doing well in class. Also, make sure you are either notifying parents you are extending the PASS Plan from 1st semester or are scheduling a meeting. All PASS Plans should be complete by April 16. You can access the PASS Plan spreadsheet in your drive. 

I will be starting to schedule department meetings to go over course numbers and to determine how many sections of classes are needed. Once we get this phase done, then we will start working on the master schedule. Some of this may have to wait until we hire the new position that was created by the board last Friday. His/her certifications will impact what I will be able to do with the schedule. We will have some more room movement because of the new position. Mr. Bork will go back to his old room, 204 and the new Science/Math position will be in that room. 

Requisitions for next year are due Monday, March 15. If you know you will need to get supplies throughout the year, please let me know this or I won't budget enough in your area's line item. 

Looking ahead, our next extra hour meeting is on March 17, our last screener will be on March 17, shelter drill on the 31st at 9:20 am. District in-service is on the 10.

Assistant Principal's Happenings

We have made some adjustments to a few student's schedules in the past week.  I try to email those out when they happen but sometimes forget or overlook parts of it.  Please look over your rosters and if you notice any changes that you didn't expect please reach out to me.  

Yesterday, I passed out detention notices for tardies.  I will continue to do that on a bi-weekly basis until the end of the year.  We had 18 students that had 5 or more tardies in a class and they received time for those issues.  For truants, I would like to have a policy to forgive a truant due to Advisory.  This will likely only be for those that had one.  Right now I'm thinking something along the lines of community service or a display of good citizenship.  If you have some ideas for this plan let me know!

No baby yet, but Sam will be induced on Monday if it doesn't happen before that.  Right now, I will plan to be there Monday morning but will be gone while we are at the hospital after that.

As you may have seen on today's BulldogBites, my video media class is starting to become more active. All of the students have great ideas, but are working on follow through. Again, if you have a great story idea please let me know or any of the video media students. I really have to applaud video media 2 as they had to learn two different editing software programs this year and are really doing a great job adapting. Some of these students have put in numerous extra hours to make sure BulldogBites is ready to upload the evening before "showtime." However, sometimes they all have difficulty finding a story. Feel free to provide suggestions!

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...
