Happy Friday! As we get draw closer to the end of first quarter, I ask that you make contact with parents whose child is struggling, especially if the parent did not come to parent/teacher conferences. We need to reach out to these parents before their child gets to the point where he/she gives up. When you call the parent have something prepared to help you with the call. I would open up with who you are, let them know something positive that their child does, then get into the concern, see if they have any ideas or insights, and then come up with a plan. It may become necessary to schedule a PASS plan, but we want to start making contact now.

Thank you for getting your picture taken yesterday. I know some of you would rather just use the one from last year.

During advisory on Monday, Juniors will take the Iowa Youth Survey. Barry and Nicki should have talked to you to give you instructions on what to do. If you have Juniors and they haven't said anything, please seek them out. We will not have a video during advisory this week.

Grades for 1st quarter will be due on 10/31 by 8:30 am. Beth and Amy will run
report cards that morning.

I will be gone parts of today for the Lakes Conference Principal's Meeting in Spencer.

Have a great weekend!

Teachers as Learners

Jodi Richey, Shawn Starr, and Erin Ohrlund will be attending the Iowa Speech Coaches Conference.

Paul Fischer will be taking a group of students to the DMAAC contest on October 19.
