Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. Today is our last midterm date of the school year. Midterms will be printed off and sent home with the students. These will be passed out at the end of 8th period.
On Monday, I will be meeting with seniors during advisory to go over graduation items. We will meet in the little theater. Seniors are down to 15 days of class not including today. If you have a senior failing a class, please make sure you are contacting parents and asking the student to come in before or after school to make up work or retake tests. My last check had 32 seniors failing one or more classes. Now not all of those seniors need to pass the class to graduate, but many do.
In the coming weeks, Mrs. Leavitt will be sending out more information regarding the extra pd hours for next year that you will be paid for to make up for the money you would lose from our new pd format.
On Thursday, April 27, my committee for our targeted status will be meeting in the morning to finish our work for year 1. We will be creating our action plan that we will need to implement in the next 2 years.
For those of you on graduation duty this year, I did email out the details for that day. If you have questions please see me. Like past years, the plan is to have it outside, weather permitting. That decision will be made the week of graduation.
Just a reminder the seniors last day of class is May 12 and semester tests are on May 15 & 16. Tests need to be done by the end of 4th period on Tuesday. If you are a senior teacher and are willing to proctor tests for other senior classes please let me know and we can work out a schedule. Senior grades will be due before you leave for the day on May 16. Mrs. Davis will need time on Wednesday to run reports for senior awards that are that night. Mr. Formanek will be sending out the list of seniors that have to test due to attendance/discipline. If they need to test because of grades, you will need to mark that part down.

Assistant Principal's Happenings
I hope everyone enjoyed their week! We are getting down to the wire on some seniors like Dr. Iverson mentioned. Please keep working on them, we have made some great gains with a few but still have too many jeopardizing their graduations. Phone calls or emails work wonders sometimes so keep communicating and encouraging as we finish the year.
I am hoping to send out the Finals list for Seniors early next week. When you get the list, I ask that you double-check it for any mistakes. We will remind Seniors of the expectations to finish their classes if they plan to walk at graduation.
I was able to update attendance contracts this week and had the majority of students with tardies complete their time. If they did not they will have to finish it during the next early out. Like I mentioned last week, if students start having excessive tardies at the end of the year and I will take care of those consequences.
Our chuck your change for Dylan was very successful, with just under $1,000 in cash alone. Student Council was taking the money to the bank yesterday so I will find out the total soon. Mrs. Isebrand sent out an email to share birthday wishes with Dylan, please participate if you are able as I know that would mean a great deal to him.
Driver's Education's first session starts this Saturday. Reminder if you have any interest in becoming certified to teach Driver's Ed. in the future please let me know.
The Festival of Orchestras is tonight in the Middle School Auditorium, come out and support our students!
