Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week with the warm weather. Looks like it could be little cooler this weekend. It is hard to believe we are already half way through April. Then end is in sight. Speaking of the end in sight, we have several seniors that are really digging a hole in terms of their grades. I will be talking to the 17 seniors that are failing a class needed for graduation today.
We do have our master schedule done for next year. Judd and Melissa are going through the student's schedules to make sure the students have all the required courses in there. We will be handing out student schedules soon.
During advisory on Monday, the students will need to take the Conditions for Learning survey. We do have some students that the parents have turned in the form to excuse them from the survey. I will send out those names later today. Please just have those students sit quietly or read a book. This survey is voluntary, so if a student refuses, don't fight them on taking it. Please remind students that it is important they take this seriously and think about their school experience as a whole and not focus on one incident.
On Monday, April 24, I will be having a senior class meeting during advisory in the little theater. I need to go over some graduation details with them and how the rest of the school year will play out for them, final day of class, semester test dates, etc. For your knowledge, the seniors last day of class is May 12. They will turn in their computers and check out that day. On May 15 & 16, they will have semester tests. All senior semester tests will need to be done by the end of 4th period that day. Senior grades will be due by 4:00 pm on the 16th. On the 17th, I will store senior grades, make sure seniors have met the graduation requirements, and notify those seniors that will need to continue to attend class. Mrs. Davis will finalize senior awards for the awards program that night.
Finally, if you are not doing anything tonight or tomorrow, you and your family can attend the Spring play, Puffs. Come and watch a great play and see Mrs. Ohrlund's final production as LCHS's Drama Director. She has done an excellent job in this position and the students have always put on a great show!
Midterm and cutoff date for all PASS Plans is April 21. Please make sure you have contacted any parents prior to that day. Semester tests for grades 9-11 will be on May 30, 31, and June 1. This will be the schedule:

Assistant Principal's Happenings
Busy but a good week back after the break! I hope everyone was ready to get back to help students finish the school year strong. This time of the year stays busy pretty much until the end as there are a lot of end-of-the-year tasks. I know I have been slower at responding to emails but please send them and I will get to them as soon as I can.
A reminder to make sure we are in our Teacher Duty locations before and after school. I'm sure you all know about the incidents in the area and we are aware certain things cannot be stopped. However, it is important that we do what we can to help curb any incidents. Please be in the hallways between classes as well.
I have been handing out tardy notifications and have reached most students who have reached 7 in a class. I will try to talk with you individually if there are other circumstances with a student and may give an alternative to the student. If they are on an attendance contract, I add the time to those. They will be expected to have the time completed next week during the early out if they don't finish it before then. I will do one more round in early May but if you have a student that starts being tardy before the end of the year, please give me a head's up.
Finals are getting close as Dr. Iverson had mentioned above and I will be sending out a list of Seniors soon who will need to take Finals. I will include all attendance, discipline, tardy, and grades for quarter 3. This year, I will not include students with grades for quarter 4 and will leave that part (if a student has a D+ or below in quarter 4) up to the teacher to let a student know if they need to take semesters or not. I will send out a list for the other grades after the Seniors have finished the year.
If you get a chance our students will be performing the Spring Play, "Puffs" in the Little Theater Friday and Saturday night. Please come support our students!
