April 28, 2023
Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week. Seniors will be down to 10 days. I have about 18 of them I am watching to make sure they pass what they need to graduate. For a couple of them, I think I am more stressed about it then they are.
It is amazing how busy this time of year gets. Spring sport seasons are really going, we are getting ready for graduation, the counselors are working with kids on their schedules for next year, etc. Please take some time to enjoy the moment and relax when you can.
At the LCS Foundation Banquet on Wednesday, Paul Fischer was honored for his 25 years of employment at LCHS. Also celebrating their 25th year were Joanne Koth, Dawn MacGregor, Eric Peterson, Leigha Scheitler, and Leroy Wichers. Employees of the Month were also recognized again, Cliff Collins was the February honoree. Also, the top 5% of the class of 2023 were recognized, they are: Meredith Arnold, Brock Feldman, Abigail Tilberg, Elijah Dougherty, Michael Meis, Spencer Schnetzer, and Payton Wright. Congrats to all the people recognized.
Next week, the top 10 of the senior class will be attending the Rotary lunch on Thursday. Mr. Kopperud will be introducing them. That day I have a regional CTE meeting.
The week of May 15 is college/post high school commitment week for seniors. In honor of that on May 17 please where a shirt/sweatshirt from your alma matter. You may also wear jeans that day with your alma matter clothing.
Just a reminder the seniors last day of class is May 12 and semester tests are on May 15 & 16. Tests need to be done by the end of 4th period on Tuesday. If you are a senior teacher and are willing to proctor tests for other senior classes please let me know and we can work out a schedule. Senior grades will be due before you leave for the day on May 16. Mrs. Davis will need time on Wednesday to run reports for senior awards that are that night.

Assistant Principal's Happenings
We have many students and staff gone from the building today. Please be out in the halls as much as possible. We have had a couple major incidents this past week and lots of drama as things seem to be boiling over between students. Please remind students in advisory, this is not the time to jeopardize their academics by making poor choices.
Please remember to check over the Senior List for Finals. I will send out the list for underclassmen in two weeks. If you have a senior that improves their grade above a D+ for the 4th quarter it is up to you to inform them that they wouldn't have to take the final. Students on the list for other reasons should not be removed unless approved by me. I will be meeting with the rest of the seniors next week who owe any time before the end of the year.
I have six students we still need to meet with the county attorney for attendance. I continue to remind students and parents of the expectations for attendance but some are not getting the message and unfortunately, it comes down to that. Encourage students to finish out the year as we don't have much left.
Enjoy your weekend! Made it to May!
