Happy Friday! I hope everyone had an enjoyable week. Today is the last day for regular class for the seniors. They will need to sign out today if they are not taking semester tests. Seniors will take their semester tests on Monday and Tuesday. I am going to request that all test be completed by the end of 4th period on Tuesday, so you can get grades entered that afternoon/night and then Amy can finish figuring out the awards right away Wednesday morning. I will store grades Wednesday when I get here at 6:50.
The awards ceremony is Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the middle school auditorium. At this time, there is no attendance restrictions, but masks will be required. The early forecast for the 23rd looks good, 75 and partly cloudy. Hopefully, I don't jinx anything.
Please continue to be visible between classes in the hallway. We have seen an increase in school is about over behavior. Masks are still required to be worn in the buildings when you are not by yourself. We also need to make sure we are not slipping on how the masks are being worn. We only have 9 more student days left after today. For summer school and driver's education, masks will still be required in the building.
Please also keep your kids to the bell at lunch time and at the end of the day. During second lunch I am getting more than the choir kids before the bell rings.
Thanks for all you do, finish the year strong!
Have a Great Weekend!

Reminders for semester tests: Each teacher needs to tell their students if they need to take the test- students will not know. Please let them know by tomorrow so they can prepare. Any student in white needs to take their test. These could be anything from truants, personal absences, tardies, suspensions, or grades. I made several mistakes when I calculated the personal days so we already had around 8 students who I have taken off the list. Please remind students to check the handbook and with me if they think it was a mistake. Students highlighted in yellow mean their grade is at a D+ or below for the 4th quarter. If they get their grade up, they do not need to take the test, please let them know. If a student gets a truant or suspension before the end of the year, I will also be adding them to the list and will email those teachers. You may also require a student to take it if their grade falls below a D+ before the end of the year too as I know several of you have big projects/tests they still need to finish.
Walking around classes yesterday, I noticed very few students with masks below their noses. We know the community numbers have been low but we cannot risk kids missing their last couple of weeks of school. Please keep enforcing the policy through the end of the year as we hope for fewer restrictions in the fall.
Continue keeping student behavior a priority. Thank you for being more visible in the hallways as this has helped deter many of the concerns lately. Keep Seniors motivated as well so we can have a positive finish for the end of the year!
