Happy Friday! We are now entering November. It always seems these next two months go by pretty fast. Looking ahead to next spring, we are hoping to find a couple soccer coaches for next year. If you have an interest in coaching soccer, please talk to Mr. Hector or myself. The plan is to start playing a JV schedule in the 19-20 school year. We would like the coaches to start doing some skill building/open fields this spring to get ready for the upcoming season. 

 It was amazing how fast the stadium seating came down at the football field. It was like Monday morning it was there and when I left it was gone. It will be fun watching the building process take shape. 

 With the end of quarter, we had a few students that did not pass, but have not had a pass plan. You must have a PASS Plan on file with me for any student who has potential to fail the semester. I will not accept PASS Plans after 2nd quarter midterm. As this is too late for any real change to take place. Please get these meetings scheduled. 

 The foundation is still looking for Employee of the Month nominations. Please take the time to nominate a colleague. Forms are found on the www.lemarscsd.org website under the employee tab.

November extra hour meetings are on the 7th at 7:00 am and on the 28th at 4:00 pm. We also have a shelter drill on Wednesday at 9:20 am.

Instructional Coach's Technology Tid Bits

This week's tips may not all be classroom oriented but I guarantee you will find at least one that you find useful.

 Did you know that you can search for a song and then tapping “other recordings” for different renditions (i.e. covers)?

 What about searching "Sunset" to get the time the sun will set today.

 To see wait times for nearly a million sit-down restaurants around the world that allow walk-ins, just search for the restaurant on Google and scroll down to the Popular Times section on the right hand side. There you’ll see the estimated wait time at that very moment. And by tapping on any of the hour bars, you’ll see the estimated wait for that time period. You can even scroll left and right to see a summary of each day’s wait times below the hour bars–so you can plan ahead to beat the crowds. I tested it and Four Brothers, Archie's Waeside, and Bob's were all listed. 

 Remember where you parked with Google Maps

 One benefit of signing into Chrome that I am fond of is that it allows you view your history across devices. To do this, open Chrome and click on “History.” From the drop down menu, click “Full History” and “Tabs From Other Devices.” If you’re signed into the same Google account on both your phone and your computer, you’ll see the article you were just about to finish on your way into work on your phone. This works if you are signed into multiple devices such as computers or phones or tablets.

 If you are a keyboard shortcut person like me here is a quick way to jump between the many tabs you probably have open in your Chrome browser. Jump between tabs at light speed by pressing Ctrl and the tab number you want to go to (i.e., Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3).

 This one was new to me this week. If you right-click in any text field you are presented with the option for a shortcut to access emoji on any platform Chrome can be found.

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...
