Happy Friday! Tonight will be night 2 of the LCHS production of Shrek. If possible, come and check out our students as they perform. They have a performance tonight and tomorrow, both at 7:00 pm at the MS auditorium.
On Monday, I will have a senior class meeting in the competition gym. I need to discuss a change in graduation speaker and we will take the class picture at that time.
Looking ahead the trimester ends on 11/15 and the midterm of 2nd quarter is 11/29. Reminder I will not take any more PASS plans after this date. If we are going to come up with a plan, it will take longer than 4 weeks to make up for 14 weeks of not meeting expectations.
Next extra hour meeting is on November 28 and will be from 4:00-5:00 pm. We will meet in the library for that meeting.
The foundation is still looking for Employee of the Month nominations. Please take the time to nominate a colleague. Forms are found on the www.lemarscsd.org website under the employee tab.
Have a great weekend!

Book Bash is a reading competition in which teams of 2-6 students read from a list of 20 books and then compete against other teams in the AEA. The initial meeting was this morning before school, but if you have an avid reader you think will enjoy this, please send the student my way. Teams have to be formed by December, so there is still time to add to a team or form a new one.

Student council will begin their "Fight Cancer" campaign on December 4th. Each class will have a donation bucket in the office and will collect money for local LCS citizens affected by cancer. Each class is expected to donate $2.00/person and the campaign will run through December 18th. Each class that raises their goal amount will earn double opens on December 21st. Below is the breakdown of how much each class must raise:
9th Grade - $318.00
10th Grade - $354.00
11th Grade - $338.00
12th Grade - $318.00
Thank you to all who helped with our Support Siouxland Soldiers mission. The LCHS Student council sent 56 packages overseas and collected more than $2,000.00 in donations to help out with the shipping cost and additional donations to our local families with military connections.
The LCHS Student Council attended the State Student Council conference in Des Moines on October 29th, where 5 of our students presented on our Support Siouxland Soldiers campaign. The council also earned an "Honor Council" award for the 4th year in a row! Please congratulate these students when you see them, as they all work very hard to bring greatness to Le Mars Community Schools.
