Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. It is hard to believe this is the last Friday in April and we will be starting our last month of school next week. This time is going to go by fast. 

Congrats to Mrs. Dunn for being named the Crystal Bell Teacher of the Year. She gave an outstanding speech on Wednesday night at the banquet. 


I would like you to look at the PASS Plan spreadsheet to make sure you have turned in a PASS Plan to me. If it is not on there, then I don't have it documented it took place. A student can not fail a class if there was no PASS Plan. 

The seniors are getting closer to graduation. I have several that are failing classes that are needed for graduation. I encourage you to call home and talk to the parents to let them know what their student needs to get done to pass your class. I am also communicating with parents, but I can't tell them what needs to be done to pass. Seniors final day of class is May 9. They will take semester tests on May 12 and 13. On May 13 all tests need to be done by the end of 5th period. Senior grades are due at 8:00 am on May 14. This is a hard deadline as Mrs. Davis will need to run final awards for that night. All seniors will need to have 50 credits at this time or he/she will not be walking at graduation. 

The master schedule is getting closer to being complete. I am hoping to share it wiht the counselors and SPED teachers first to make sure I didn't overlapp something that shouldn't be before I start loading students into the schedule and share with the rest of the staff. My goal is to have it out to everyone the first week in May. 

Grades 9-11 will have their semester tests on May 21-23. May 21 will be periods 1, 3, and 5; May 22 will be periods 2, 4, and 6; and May 23 will be periods 7 and 8. 

Test 1: 8:30 - 9:45
Test 2: 9:50 - 11:05
Lunch: 11:10 -12:10
Test 3: 12:15 - 1:30

Remind students they will need to stay in their class the entire time so bring something to read when done testing. I will allow you to make arrangements with a student to move a test if needed.

Senior Semester Tests: 

Here is the initial draft of the Senior Semester Test List.  

Please read the instructions at the top.

Red indicates the student must take all tests.

Otherwise, they must take the test for only the period and reason indicated.  For example, "abs" in Period 1 indicates the student had too many absences for Period 1 and must take the Period 1 test.  

Please remember that teachers will generate their own lists for testing due to grades.  Any grade lower than a C- will require a test for that period, only.  You must look at both quarter grades.  See handbook policy, below --

I plan to update this each weekend going forward.  My plan is to have an initial 9-11 list by May 1st.


Semester Test

  1. All Students will take first semester tests.

  2. Semester test will count for 10% of semester grade for both semesters

  3. Second Semester - Students must have no grades lower than a C- for each quarter.

  4. Second Semester - Students who accumulate 5 or more unexcused absences or 6 or more tardies in a class will take that semester test for that class. 

  5. Any student who is excused from taking their final test may opt to take the test to improve their grade without having their final grade lowered.

  6. Semester tests are given the last three days of 1st semester, with the third day being a makeup day, and the last two days of 2nd semester.

  7. All Students have open lunch on the days of Semester Tests.

  8. Students issued an in-school, or out-of-school suspension, or truant are required to take all semester tests.

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym. Teachers with the asterick by their name in the Teacher Handbook are the lead teachers and will need to take charge of these meetings.  Dress up days for Homecoming Week. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!...
