Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. I have been trying to think of something really good to write about, but have been drawing a blank. So I only have a few updates.

I did have a meeting with NW AEA regarding our targeted status for IEP student growth on the ISASP. I'll talk more about this on Wednesday at our in-service. How growth is calculated is too confusing to put down in the Friday Focus. Anyway, by us being identified as a targeted school we will be in a 3 year process to get ourselves removed from this list. Year 1, our only real task will be to come up with a plan. I will have a small committee set up that will work on this. There will be meetings for us to attend at the AEA. Year 2 and 3 is where we implement our plan. I have a webinar on November 15, hopefully the state will give us more information.

Thank you to those of you who have been getting the PASS plans done. These all need to be completed by Nov. 16. The time after that is going to fly by. We do have a number of seniors that have themselves in a jam and will need to work their way out of it. I have been talking with these students weekly. We also have quite a few Juniors-Freshmen with a D- or lower. I haven't talked with these students, but we need to keep reminding them to get their work made up or done. Midterm and Trimester 1 report cards will go out on the 18th. Trimester grades are due at 8:00 am on the 18th.

Looking to next week, we have a shelter drill on Wednesday at 9:10. Friday, I will be involved with the YMCA search for a new CEO. This process is via Zoom so I will be around, but tied up most of the day.

Assistant Principal's Happenings

Happy Friday!  I felt I spent a record time in the office this week with meetings and discipline issues so I was glad to get out a little more yesterday and will work to get out more this next week as well.  I will be out of the office next Thursday but will have access to email or phone if you need anything.  

I handed out the tardy detentions- please keep me updated on any students that are serving time making up homework as that is an option to improve grades.  I will be giving the option to work off time faster during the early out on Wednesday to go clean up the school grounds so if you see students with trashbags that is why.  Please remind students that are at 4+ tardies to not get to 7 before the end of the semester.

A little update on the bathroom issues- we are seeing the girls' bathroom also having students use screwdrivers to mess with the pressure.  Thank you to the teachers that reported seeing water on the floors so we can get those fixed before it makes more of a mess.  Please let Michael know if you see any water slowly leaking from the screws as that is where they are messing with the pressure of the toilets.

  Friday Focus  Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week.  On Monday, I attended a DCAP workshop. You may be asking what is a DCAP workshop? DCAP is our District Career Academic Plan. Just like the student ICAP, Individual Career Academic Plan, the district must have one also. In the DCAP, we spell out what we are doing to prepare our students for college career readiness and employability skills. The DCAP consists of 7 sections, the main sections deal with course planning, work-based learning, and 5 essential components of ICAP.  The course planning section deals with the students 4 year plan and how the students and parents are advised on progress towards graduation. This is why we have the grade level registration meetings, our 8th grade CTE day, 8th grade parent meeting, etc so we can meet this requirement.  I am sure by this point, you are asking yourself how does this apply to me?   Friday Focus Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We made it through graduation breakfast, practice, and award night. I was thinking that Wednesday is just as about as busy of a day as the Friday of homecoming for me.  This will be the last Friday Focus for the school year, so I'll try to remember to have everything you need to know to get through the last week of classes. Please remember contracts are due to Central Office on the 23rd. I do have a basket on my desk where you can turn it into me and I'll get it to Central Office.   We will be running the advisory schedule on Monday. On Tuesday, we will use the last day of school schedule. On the last day of classes students will be checking out. Please sign their check out sheets. If they have school property that needs to be returned, please document it on the sheet. During advisory that day, they will turn in their laptops.   Friday Focus Happy Friday!   I hope everyone has had a great week. Today is midterm of the 1st quarter. Please make sure all grades are up to date. Amy will run midterms and we will hand them out during 8th period.   I have had my first PASS plan turned in, congrats to Ms. Hommes to be the first one to get one done. Unfortuately is is for a senior that needs his credits. Next week is homecoming, let the fun begin. Monday night at 7:30 pm is the coronation. Come out to the competition gym to see who will be crowned this year's King and Queen.  On Monday, we will have class meetings so students can sign up for the different competitions. Freshmen will be in the Little Theater, Sophomores in the Library, Juniors in the Commons, and Seniors in the Competition Gym.
