Happy Friday! I thought this first week back seemed to go fast. I hope you all had a great break and were able to relax a bit. I would like to get your feedback on ending semester before break. I will be sending out a survey to have you fill out.

As we start second semester, I have noticed that we have had to retrain some of students on how to wear their masks. Please don't let down on this. We have been fortunate to be able to stay in one mode of learning and have not had to switch to hybrid or remote. If you have a student you have to constantly remind, please let Kyle or myself know and one of us will talk with them. We do have consequences for those who we have to tell to wear their masks appropriately. If we have to talk to them multiple times, then we can tell them they need to go to the remote learning and take the Edmentum courses. Hopefully, we don't have to go that far.

I just want to remind you that if you want to extend a PASS Plan for this semester, please notify the parents and let me know as well. I will document it on my spreadsheet so I can keep track of the PASS Plans for this semester. Last semester 47 students had PASS Plans.

We have gained a few remote students back this semester and have had a few students change to remote. We have roughly 6 fewer student doing remote classes than we had first semester.

Looking ahead we have our district in-service on the 20th and our second extra hour meeting on the 27th.

Have a Great Weekend!

Assistant Principal's Happenings

I have completed the ineligibility lists for the Winter and Spring of 2021.  I shared a new document with coaches and sponsors to look over.  If a student's name is on that sheet they should not be participating until I take it off.  Please let me know when you have an athlete or participant that should be taken off the list and I will do so.

Overall, we were down for Ineligible Students from the 1st semester last year.  This includes our remote learners, who put in a lot of work at the end to finish their courses.  However, I have already heard from many of you the work they were doing is not the same as what we expect in class.  If you have students who have returned from Remote Learning that are struggling, please encourage them to come in early and stay late.  They may need some interventions until they are caught up with our expectations.

I shared out the new Required Title IX Training PDF yesterday.  Please read that over and fill out the  Google Form I sent with it telling me you looked it over.  This is required for every employee in the district.  I have printed one off with a sign-off sheet in the high school teacher lounge as well.  If you have any questions about it, please let me know.  I would like this completed by the end of January.

Ideas from the library/video class/student council

Having an option to draw while you are presenting on Google meet can be advantageous to many of you. Here is a post describing just that:  https://www.freetech4teachers.com/2021/01/draw-on-your-screen-in-google-meet.html

I have an additional class of video media this semester, so once they learn the filming and editing process, all 3 classes will be looking for story ideas. If you know of something of interest they should cover, please let me or Joe Rosener, editor and producer, know. Thanks so much. Enjoy today's edition of BulldogBites:  https://youtu.be/OQ4nACQoUco  It is a bit over 6 minutes.
