Happy Friday! I want to start out by wishing Courtney Gerdes good luck in her new position. Today will be her last day with us. Thank you for helping out the students at LCHS.

I would also like to give a BIG Thank You to Jill Brown for organizing our staff holiday trivia and providing snacks. It was very nice! The wrapping paper I won, for getting 1st place, will come in handy.

We are quickly nearing the end of the first semester. If you have not given me copies of any PASS plans, please make sure I get them. I add them to the spreadsheet that is shared with you so you can see if I have it or not. We have 47 students that have been put on a PASS Plan. PASS Plans are required for any student that fails the semester.

Final semester grades will be due at 2:30 pm on 12/22. I will be storing grades before I leave for the break that day. I will also need the PASS Plan summaries before you leave on the 22nd for any student that failed a class.

Semester tests will be on Friday and Monday. Please follow the schedule on the 2020-2021 School Year Regular Attendance. Odd periods will be on Friday, even periods on Monday. Students do not need to report to study hall or academy classes, but will need to report to all of their other classes. Mr. Formanek discusses what to do with those in quarantine or isolation during semester test below.

Have a Great Weekend!

Assistant Principal's Happenings

The final minutes for students needing to make up time for Attendance Contracts, Tardies, or detentions are dwindling.  Compared to last year at this point, about 1/4 of the total time remains.  If you have a student who asks to make up time for the Attendance Contracts or Tardies please let me know that they served that time so I can mark it off.

I called the families of remote-learner students who are returning that were still behind.  We have about 12 that are on track who are returning and 3 that were behind but not by much.  When these kids do come back next semester, you will need to help them get used to the new routine.  Please plan out time to explain Schoology and how you use it in your class.  Explain the expectations for a student if they are quarantined.  It is good for students to hear it multiple times so they know what is expected of them.

Please continue to spread students out in classes.  It is tempting to have students sit close together in smaller classes but please make sure they are spread out as much as possible to continue reducing the chance of transmission of Covid-19 at school.  When making seating charts for next semester keep that in mind.  We will request students to spread out if we notice classes that have kids together when there is more space to spread out.

Finally, we have several students that are starting to be quarantined and won't be back for Finals.  Please communicate with those students so they know your expectations for Finals- whether it is going to be online or if they will get an incomplete until they can finish it when they are back. If you have another idea, please see Dr. Iverson or myself.
