Happy Friday! Only three more days left of school after today. Students who do not have to take semester tests and will be gone on Tuesday, can check out today. If a student has to take semester tests and does not have an advance make up, they will check out on the test days. Otherwise, everyone else can check out on Tuesday. We will have advisory on Tuesday. If you haven't done the last reflections with them, do that first, then have them clean out their lockers. If the locker is clean (no trash, tape on the door, etc.) you may sign the students check out sheet for the locker. If the locker is damaged, please have Neal or I check it out. All lockers should shut and lock, if they don't, that is some of the damage we are looking for.

We will follow the second semester test schedule. It is as follows:

Wednesday
8:30 - 9:40 Period 1
9:45 - 10:55 Period 2
10:55 - 11:45 Lunch
11:50 - 1:00 Period 5
1:05 - 2:15 Period 6
2:20 - 3:30 Period 7

Thursday
8:30 - 9:40 Period 3
9:45 - 10:55 Period 4
11:00 - 11:50 Lunch
11:55 - 1:05 Period 8

At 2:00 pm on Thursday we will have the district recognition for the employees retiring. This will be in the high school commons.

Friday next week is the teacher check out day. Neal and I will start checking your sheets at noon.

This will be most likely the last Friday Focus of the year. I want to thank everyone for an outstanding school year. We were able to accomplish many things with our students. We made one of the three target areas with the Iowa Assessments (math), which is one better than last year. We also saw the growth of many students. We will continue to work with the STAR assessments next year, but may tweak how we use the data. We will also be implementing the grading policy next year, so please update your welcome letters. If you would like me to look it over I would be happy to assist you.

Lastly, I want to wish Kevin Westhoff the best next year as he moves to Clark and Franklin. His knowledge and experience will be greatly missed. Thank you for all the years you have put in here at the high school.

Remember to come back next week, but have a great summer.

Mark
