Happy Friday! We made it to another weekend. As we get closer to the end of the school year, students are going to test our patience. Remember to take a deep breath before reacting to something. We do not want to get into arguments or power struggles with students, especially if their is an audience. In these instances nobody wins.

I hope you all commended your students on their behavior at the assembly on Wednesday. I was very impressed with the students. I do think this is something we need to do more of and I will look for more ways to recognize our students. I think an assembly like this should become the norm next school year during our advisory time.

Wednesday night at the annual Foundation Banquet, we had several staff members recognized for 25 years of employment. I would also like to recognize these people, they are: Brett Oetken, Sherri Permewaran, and Kevin Westhoff. Thank you for your years of service and hard work to help educate the youth of Le Mars! Also that night, Employees of the Month were recognized. We also had several of them, they are: Tracy Wingert (November), LeAnn Hobson (January), Joann Johnson (February), and Gale Horan (April). Mr. Wingert was also recognized as the Decades of Excellence Crystal Bell Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to all!

Mr. Utesch will be having a Junior class meeting during advisory to go over opens for next school year. We are scheduled to do the week 15 reflection on Monday, but we will push that back a week to May 9. The back side of the week 15 reflection will be completed on May 23rd, but the Semester reflection will be completed on May 31. On May 31, you can hand back the students reflections so they can see how they progressed throughout the semester.

Finally, I need to apologize to Mrs. Cronin as I forgot to include her in recognizing staff members who are retiring at our assembly. I am sorry that happened and by no means do I not appreciate all you have done for the students, the school, and the district.

Have a great weekend!
