Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. This week, I'd like to focus on creating effective interventions for students who are struggling in the classroom. Our recent data shows that 206 out of our 677 students currently have one or more grades at a D or lower. This underscores the urgent need for targeted interventions and support. Your dedication to helping every student succeed is crucial, and I appreciate your efforts in addressing this challenge.
Intervention Strategies
- Parent Communication
- Reach out to parents of struggling students
- Seek their support in getting students to attend extra help sessions
- Keep parents informed about their child's progress and any intervention plans
- In-Class Intervention Time
- Consider dedicating a portion of your class time for targeted interventions
- This could be used for one-on-one assistance, small group work, or peer tutoring
- PASS Plans
- Remember that PASS (Plan for Academic Student Success) Plans are required for any student at risk of failing the class at semester
- These plans should outline specific strategies to help the student improve their performance
- Deadline: November 18
- Please ensure all PASS Plans are completed and submitted by this date
Implementing Interventions
When implementing interventions, consider the following:
- Identify specific areas where the student is struggling
- Set clear, achievable goals
- Use data to track progress
- Adjust strategies as needed based on student response
Remember, early intervention is key. The sooner we can identify and address issues, the better chance we have of helping our students succeed.
Important Reminders
- End of the quarter: October 21
- Grades due: October 22 by 8:00 AM
- In-service day: October 23
Thank you for your continued dedication to our students' success. If you have any questions or need support in implementing interventions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Assistant Principal's Happenings
We have a happy Moss household tonight (Thursday). Congrats to the cheerleaders, band, and football team for performing with excellence tonight.
I’ve been challenged this week to live with more joy during the work day. I invite you to join the challenge and to hold me to it!
Thank you to the CIA team for all your work and the extra time you put in to make our Wednesday early-outs a success. Next time you see a CIA member, please thank them. It isn’t easy to provide training that is applicable to every staff member, fulfill directives given by administration, and do it with clarity and professionalism. Thank you, CIA!
Thanks for a great week so far! Let’s finish strong today!
Grateful,
Moss
