Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. It is hard to believe we are at the end of September! Today will be crazy, please keep the students in class and do not let them walk around or go to the gym to help decorate. Student Council has enough help to get this done. Please also remind students that if they are going to eat lunch at school, they need to report to the commons right away. We will stop serving at 12:15. Those that normally help on lunch duty do not need to report. I can cover this. Coronation starts at 1:00 with the parade following. The last I heard, there are only 65 entries in the parade, so I figure the parade will last roughly 45 minutes. Our first night of conferences are next week. The time has changed from previous years based on feedback received on the calendar. Conferences will run 4:30 to 8:00 pm. Amy and Deb have a shared spreadsheet with all appointments that have been made. If you are scheduling pass plans, please...

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. Good job on the evac drill on Tuesday. Chief Schipper was happy with how this one went. Thanks for getting the students up on the sidewalks and out of the street. I did have students go to different evacuation sites to see if they were reported extra or missing. Please ask if there are any students there that are not in a class that evacuates to that area. I had 2 accounted for, reported extra and missing and only 2 reported missing but not extra.  At cabinet on Tuesday, we reviewed our process for sending out messages for lockouts, lockdowns, evacuate, etc. We use the same system that is used for weather delays along with the intercom. If you leave the building, for class or during lunch for personal business, please have your cell phone with you as that will be the quickest way that you will be notified if something is happening in school. Later next week, I will be handing out the goal sheets last ye...

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. This coming Wednesday marks midterm. Please make sure your grades are updated by 8:00 am on the 20th. Amy will run the midterm reports that morning. Please put all comments under Q1. Any student with a grade lower than a D needs to have a comment. They will be handed out during advisory on Monday. The end of the quarter is on 10/19.  New this year is the junior opens. For juniors to maintain their opens, they must maintain all grade to be a C or higher. Any junior that has a C- or lower will be placed back in study hall until the next grade check, which is the end of the 1st quarter. If a junior asks about this, refer him/her to page 22 of the student handbook. Schedule changes will go into effect on 9/21. As I am writing this, I feel like I am back in the ap role again. As Adam is at a sped training for administration, I have been busy dealing with the attendance and non-conforming behavior. Seems like...

Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I always think the short weeks seem to take more out of me than the normal 5 day school week. Maybe I am trying to squeeze too much into the 4 days.  I hope everyone had a great week! Adam and I are trying to make an effort to be out in the halls more. I am also starting to visit classrooms. I have made into a few classrooms this week already and have seen some good activities taking place. Please continue to challenge our students and push them out of their comfort zones.  Some dates you will want to keep in mind: September 13 - In-Service, September 19 - Evac Drill, September 20 - Midterm, September 21 - School Picture Day, September 27 - In-Service, and September 29 - Homecoming. For the evac drill, if your classes crosses 3rd Ave, please make sure the students are up on the sidewalk and not standing in the street. Chief Schipper asked that we remind the students as they will have fire trucks coming down the str...

Happy Friday!   We have now made it through the first full week of the school year. I hope everyone has had a great week. Just a couple of reminders, 1. We have our ALICE training for students today. Freshmen will be 2nd period, Sophomores 3rd, Juniors 4th, and Seniors 6th. The students will report directly to the little theater. 2. Tier 2 plans are due today, please upload the plan the folder in the shared drive. We finally have our reading and writing scores from the ISASP from last year. I have printed out the student ISASP report sheets that we will hand out for the October 2 advisory activity.  I am going to be posting a lot of data here and then will talk briefly about it. There is a lot for us to be celebrating and to be proud of. In the 21-22 school year we were 0-3 on reaching our goals. Last year we hit 2 of the 3, with math being the only goal we missed. This is the board goal:  By the year 2026, 80% of students in grades 3 - 5, 6 - 8, and 9 ...
