December 2, 2022
Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break and was able to see family and have a chance just to relax. As we draw closer to the end of the semester, please make sure if you still have incompletes from 1st quarter those get updated. Semester tests will be on December 16 (odd periods) and December 19 (even periods). The make up day will be December 20. Grades will be due before you leave on the 20th along with PASS Plan summaries. Please put those in the box on my door.
I will be out of the building today, so if you need something please either email or check with Kyle. I will be able to check my email's occasionally throughout the day.
I have been talking with Seniors that are failing classes that would put their graduation at risk. They have all been told to talk with the teacher whose class they are failing. Please let me know if you have a senior failing and they haven't talked to you yet. I will follow up with them again on Monday. They only have 12 school days to get the grade to passing.
The counselors are starting the registration process. They have talked to the students in high school this week and they will start signing up for classes next week. The 8th graders will start the registration process after our CTE day on January 12. I won't have any department meeting until after a decision has been made regarding our ESSER teaching position. Once I know what is happening with that, I'll schedule department meetings.
Have a great weekend!

Assistant Principal's Happenings
In advisory over the next few weeks please double-check each student's computer and charger. Try to have this completed by Christmas so we can find some missing technology. Please also go over the Semester Finals' schedule and the importance of their grades for credits. After Break, I will send out a quick slideshow on how to avoid taking Finals and reasons why Finals would need to happen for the 2nd Semester.
I am going to finish talking to students who had to finish Tardy Detentions. At this time, I am not going to add any more from the list besides students who are already at 7. If someone starts missing frequently before the end of the semester, please let me know.
A positive note is a record-low number of Attendance Contract Students this semester. I do believe our automated call system has made a big difference in lowering the number. The total number of truants is higher than usual but it has tended to come from the same group of students. Please keep updating attendance as a priority as we finish the semester.
