Happy Last Friday in January!  It is hard to believe we are already into February. We will be getting into our scheduling process pretty heavy this month. The goal is to get everyone registered so we can start working on the master schedule. The ultimate goal is to have the master schedule completed by April so we can get it to the students.  On Wednesday, I made an announcement about prom and what it may look like. I am including the information here in case someone asks you what we are doing. When we developed our prom guidelines, our ultimate goal is to stay in live instruction and not to do something that may make us move to a hybrid or remote model. As you will see below, these are all based on the 14 day average for positive cases. Some of this could change if any of the variants are found in Plymouth County. The capacities were figured by looking at the usable space in the areas and how many people we could safely have and spread out.  Prom Date: April 10 CO...

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. As we enter our last week of January and get ready to move into February we will be nearing our 3rd quarter midterm. Midterm is on February 5. I also want to remind you that I am allowing you to extend a PASS plan from 1st semester to 2nd semester. All I need you to do is contact the parent and then let me know who you are extending it for. I have had some that have emailed the parents and included me in the email.  That will work.  I also want to encourage you to take the time to look at the Star Reading and Math data in our next extra hour meeting. Check out your students and see what areas they have difficulty in especially in reading, because we are all reading teachers. Hopefully the students looked at their scores and areas where they are not as strong. I do think we had a handful of kids not give a good effort based on how long it took them to test and t...

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. We will be starting the registration process for the 21-22 school year in the next week. Letters were mailed home to the incoming 8th grade parents informing them that we will not have our live registration meetings. Judd and Melissa have a video online that goes over what we would have discussed that night. My goal is to have the bulk of kids registered by mid February. Hopefully, I then can meet with departments to go over numbers. We are about 2-3 months behind in this process than we normally are, but it will move along quickly and we will have a schedule before too long.  Thank you for the great start to second semester. If you have students who have returned to live learning from remote that have gaps, we can discuss if the success center is an appropriate placement for them. We have moved a couple in there already.  Also, thanks to those who took my survey on s...

Happy Friday! I thought this first week back seemed to go fast. I hope you all had a great break and were able to relax a bit. I would like to get your feedback on ending semester before break. I will be sending out a survey to have you fill out.  As we start second semester, I have noticed that we have had to retrain some of students on how to wear their masks. Please don't let down on this. We have been fortunate to be able to stay in one mode of learning and have not had to switch to hybrid or remote. If you have a student you have to constantly remind, please let Kyle or myself know and one of us will talk with them. We do have consequences for those who we have to tell to wear their masks appropriately. If we have to talk to them multiple times, then we can tell them they need to go to the remote learning and take the Edmentum courses. Hopefully, we don't have to go that far. I just want to remind you that if you want to ...
