Happy Friday! It was nice to see of you this week. I look forward to these meetings as way to stay in touch. In the Spanish group meeting we talked about how terrible it would be to do business this way all the time. It is hard to see the different personalities of each person.
In our other groups we had some good discussion on the enrichments and some of our frustrations on the lack of students doing some of the enrichments. Just remember we do have some students working on these lessons and they are growing academically. I know my thought process during this time has been to do what is best for the students, which I know all of you are thinking that way also. Thank for all you have been doing for the students of LCHS and trying to give them some sense of normalcy or doing the best we can. Some teachers were receiving feedback from the students that they were confused on if the work was required. Please watch your wording and maybe the use of due date. Maybe say to receive feedback return it to me by 4/24/20.
During the English meeting I was asked about senior grades. I do want to have the senior grades due earlier as we are still trying to get an awards slideshow program put together. Please have the senior grades done by May 15, 2020. This will give Amy D. time to get the certificates printed. The plan would be to get these certificates to the students when we give them their diplomas.
Thank you to Nancy for agreeing to create a slideshow of our senior awards. If you would like to have your award in this slideshow, please get Nancy this info ASAP.
So my funny story of the week deals with me this time and not my kids. Although I could use Tanner very easily and maybe I'll add that one in also. Anyway, I was having a Nerf gun fight with my three kids. Tanner and I vs. Tessa and Tyler. Each side had to build their fort first. So the basement was pretty much destroyed as we built these forts. Kristin came down to take pictures so the kids would have these for their scrap books. I was looking at the pictures and couldn't believe how bald I was on top of my head. I knew I had a thin spot on the back of my head and had the elongating forehead, but I didn't realize how much hair had disappeared between the two spots. Now I can considering if I could pull of the Moss or Formanek look.
Now my story on Tanner, I told this to a couple of the groups so bare with me. We took Tessa and Tanner to Hillview on Tuesday, Tyler is too cool to go there with us. We start on the green trail and Tanner was like a puppy. He would run 40 feet ahead and then run back to us and he would not stop talking. He kept asking if we would see any animals, then he would run ahead. If we came across any horse droppings on the trail, he had to make sure to announce it so no one would step in it. Kristin and I had to tell him we wouldn't if he didn't stop talking or running ahead. This is probably the first time he has gone somewhere in weeks, but his energy and excitement was really high.
Have a great weekend!
