Happy Friday! We just completed week 5 of our COVID 19 closure. Thank you for getting lessons online for our students. On Tuesday, Amy Davis and I handed out the fundraiser items to the Juniors that sold them. Many of the students I talked to echoed how they are missing school and seeing us. Most of them were appreciative for the lessons that are being posted.

Teachers, Administrative Assistance, Nurse, and Counselors should have received their contracts for next year in the mail. Please make sure you sign your contract and send it back in with the enclosed envelope. As for the aides, your contracts will be mailed out as soon as Kyle and I have met with Dr. Webner to discuss our aide time for next year.

Since the Governor didn't announce what will happen to us yesterday, we should find out today at 11:00 am.  I will be calling the students who do not have internet access to see if they would like paper copies of the lessons. I know for some of you this may be difficult, but we do need to provide opportunities for these students also. My plan to do this is to have you put together a packet for the rest of the year, if we are closed for the remainder of the year, early next week and then I would schedule a time on Friday where they can do a grab and go for their work. By putting together materials for the remainder of the year we will only have to do this once. Please make sure you include an answer key so they can check their work. If you need to make copies, I can let you use one of the three copy machines in the high school, but we will need to coordinate when you are in there to ensure no one else is around you at that time. Once you get your copies done, leave them on the table in the conference room by the office. Kyle and I can put the packets together and get them ready for pick up.

Since we don't know what is going to happen with the remainder of the school year, I'll put out information regarding prom and graduation. I will be meeting with each department next week via google hangouts. You should have the invite on you calendar. We will use that time to ask me questions, I will pass along any information that I can, and I would like to hear how the online classes are going.

Hopefully you haven't completed all you home improvement projects by now. Enjoy a nice weekend, looks like we are warming up again.

Assistant Principal's Happening

I'm sure everyone is getting as stir crazy as I am.  Thankfully, the warmer weather is coming so we can at least be outside.  I spent the day yesterday finishing up some evaluations.  I have been waiting to schedule just in case we can return in a couple weeks which we should find out today.  If we are canceled for the remainder of the year, I will start sending out Google Hangout invites.  They will likely be in the afternoons as I usually have meetings in the morning.

Special Education Teachers are working on connecting with their students.  If you have questions for them please let them know so we can best meet the needs of all students during this distance learning.  You may be asked to be part of an IEP meeting as the state is still allowing them to continue and we want to complete as many as possible so we don't have a ton to do at the start of next year.

Please make sure you are working on staying positive on Social Media.  I read an article recently about individuals who are putting their jobs in jeopardy due to their online presence.  Part of that was about how someone was posting pictures of them refusing to social distance despite the state's order.  I also recommend staying out of arguments with strangers online as most of these people only want you to post more offensive material.  Instead, I recommend getting addicted to TikTok like my wife has been lately...
