Happy Friday! As I am writing this I am reflecting back on the last couple of weeks. I know many of you are busy creating enrichments for our students and our college classes have started up again online. If you have any questions regarding your classes or what you can be doing at this time don't hesitate to ask. I want to clarify one question, "
Can you give students make up work from 3rd quarter?" This is not new learning and the student is doing work that has already been assigned. This can be graded and entered into your gradebook. This is very important for seniors as we don't know if we will be back on April 13. I am going forward with the plan that we will come back on that day, but I am making preparations for if we don't. I do not know what will happen with credits or how we will figure semester grades. So far, the state is asking us to err on the side of the student in awarding credit. That will be a conversation I'll have to have with Dr. Webner and Mrs. Leavitt.

I have been keeping busy the past couple of weeks working on next year's schedule. I still don't have a working one yet, but I am getting close. I have also been working with the CTE teachers on our Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment. We had a chance to get together using Google Hangouts to cover 3 elements of the plan. It was great to get to chat with them and to joke around for a bit.

For those of you I am evaluating and have completed my 3 observations I will write up your summative and then schedule a session on Google Hangouts for us to discuss the evaluation. I will email the summative ahead of time so you can  look at that as we meet.

Please let me know how the enrichments are going for you and what issues students are having. If students need a book, please let them know to contact me and I'll arrange a time to get it out of their locker or your classroom and meet them at the front door. I know I have had a few do this so far, but know where near the number of students we have in the building.

I also used this time to go through the lockers to get rid of any food or beverages that may spoil. I am happy to report I only gagged at 2 lockers. I don't know what they had in their cups, either chocolate milk or hot chocolate, but it was disgusting. I ended up filling up one of the large rolling garbage cans.

Students may have questions regarding prom and other events going on at the high school. Right now prom has been rescheduled to May 9. We are without a DJ for that night as he was already booked. So if any of you have DJ experience or ever wanted to be a DJ let me know. As for Senior Awards night and graduation, everything is on as scheduled. This is all dependent on us being back in school and the Iowa Public Health and the Plymouth County Public Help giving us the all clear.

I don't know if any of you have been like Kristin, but so far Tanner and Tessa's room have been cleaned out and 4-5 loads of clothes went to Goodwill. Tessa and Tanner don't care much for their teachers. And for those of you who have had Tyler as a student, I don't believe anything I have heard at parent teacher conferences. He has come close to getting expelled a few times.

I hope you all the best and look forward to seeing all you in a couple of weeks!
