Happy Friday! We made it through another crazy week. With the upcoming girls appearance at the state tournament, be prepared for another crazy week.
Teachers should have received the web link instructions for requisitions for next year. Please note the due date as March 12. Your budget will be the same as in past years, so far our total has not been reduced. Please email me if you need me to add money to your budget for items that may not be ordered at the beginning of the year. I will then see where our budget stands and if I can do that.
I had a conversation earlier this week about our PASS Plans and some of the stress some of you may be feeling. Please don't think of PASS Plans as the first intervention you try. You may call home and talk to the parents and express your concern about their child's grade, you can have the student come in before or after school, we can look at putting the student in the Success Center, or we can find them a peer tutor if appropriate. You do have other options than doing the PASS Plan right away. If all of that fails, then the PASS Plan would be appropriate. Remember the purpose of the PASS Plan is to put the ownership back on the student and parent. You shouldn't be the one that has to work harder, you may have to provide extra instruction, but it shouldn't become a burden on you.
Our girls basketball team will be playing on Tuesday in Des Moines at 10:00 am. Good luck to Coach Kopperud and the girls as they beat Lewis Central. They will play Thursday then at 3:15 pm. Dr. Webner will make a decision on what we will do for school on those days. If we have no school, the time missed does count against us. As of this morning we have missed 19 hours of school.
Good luck to Coach Irwin and the boys team as they take on Heelan tonight. When we win, we will play Monday night at the Tyson Event Center.
Please watch the announcements regarding the Orchestra and Choir concerts on Monday and Tuesday nights respectively, they could be moved or combined depending on how other activities do.
Have a good weekend!
