Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. Thank you for your work during the extra hour meeting. The process of the lesson study will become easier as we get more practice with it. During the next extra hour meeting, on Feb. 2, the next one in line will present their lesson for review and comment. Then before Feb. 16 he/she would have taught the lesson. Then on the 16th, the reflection form and data from the lesson will need to be presented to the group to help fine tune the lesson.  Mrs. Hill and Mr, Kopperud are wrapping up the registration talks this week. Next week they will start registering students. Hopefully by the end of the month, I can have department meetings to go over the numbers.  Congrats to Mr. Ewing on his retirement. We did have a tear fest in the commons after he told the students on Wednesday. I was talking with one student trying to console her. I told her I will get her the best choir teacher I can. She replied, "I don't want the best, I...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had a great week. As you can tell, we have had a number of kids out sick this week. It is important to make sure your Schoology site is kept up to date, so students can see what they are missing. Let your classes know that you expect them to check the site if they are able to. If they do not have internet access, we do still have access points available. There are some requirements they need to meet though in order to get one of those access points.  For those that have not heard, Mrs. Permeswaran and Mr. Fitzgerald have both decided to retire at the end of the school year. We are in the process of setting up interviews for the English position. Another staff change for next year is that Mrs.  Schindel will be moving to Special Education. She will be taking the new position that we tried to fill for this semester. We did start to advertise Mr. Fitzgerald's position, so if you know any American History/Sociology teachers encourage them to apply...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone had a great week. Thank you for your work in the first lesson study. There was some confusion on what was to take place. On Wednesday, we will meet in the library at 2:00 and CIA will give some examples of what the presentation part should look like and questions that can be discussed. They will also go over the reflection part as well. After the CIA presentation, you will go back to your departments to work on your curriculum. Some of you will want to look at and update pacing guides, others will want to work on updating essential learnings, while others will be working on your units. As you do this work, we will use the PLC framework as a guide. A big thank you to those that helped fill in this week. I have been trying not to use any of you during your planning period to fill in when we are short subs. So far, I have been lucky to move some study halls around or Judd, Melissa, Cliff, Kyle, or myself have covered. So just know if we ask you to cover durin...

Happy Friday, I hope everyone had a great start to second semester. The last day for students to add a class is on January 10 and the last day to drop a 7th class is on January 17.  We are starting the registration process for the 2022-2023 school year. On January 12, the 8th grade students will be visiting our CTE classrooms to learn about the courses and careers those course lead to. On the 17th, we will host our 8th grade parents in the MS auditorium to go over what to expect in high school, go over the 4 year plans, and also make them aware of opportunities. The counselors will be meeting with grades 9-11 during a class to help them update their 4 year plan and to assist them in picking out their courses for next school year. Later during study hall, the students will register for classes in PowerSchool.  Hopefully by the end of February, I will have solid numbers to meet with departments to go over courses.  For second semester, I will need you to have new PAS...
