Happy Friday and last day of January! As we enter February we are getting closer and closer to warmer weather. I will be concluding department meetings next week so hopefully I can get to work on the master schedule for next year.  We will do our make up extra hour meeting on Feb. 5. The two scheduled extra hour meetings are Feb. 19 and 26. For the Feb. 5 meeting, please meet in your department to work on building in intervention/enrichment times into your unit plans. You should now be planning intervention/enrichment times in all of your classes for the remainder of the school year and keeping track of the data.  During the March building in-service we will meet in grade levels to discuss your intervention data. By this day, please submit your unit plans  in the shared drive folder for your area'  showing what interventions were done, along with the data spreadsheets that indicate what students received the intervention and the results.  This will also help...

Happy Friday! I don't know where this week seemed to go. I had intended to write this part of the Friday Focus early in the week, but now it is Thursday and I am just getting to it.  We will meet as an entire staff on Wednesday, 1/29 in the library for our extra hour meeting. CIA members will review the 15 day challenge. Something I want you to keep in mind when we do this is that we are being judged differently than in the past. We can no longer just focus on students who were not proficient on the state tests, we need to make sure all students grow. A student who was proficient on last years ISASP but doesn't make growth will count against us. So the old game rules no longer apply, and we need to adapt to the new rules. On the school report cards, growth has the biggest impact on our score that determines if we need to do the SAMI process. The point of the 15 day challenge is to have scheduled intervention time during the class period. Interventions need to be individuali...

Happy Friday and beginning of 2nd semester. Just a reminder that students have 5 days to add a class, so the last day to add is the 21st. Students also have 10 days to drop. However, only students with 7 classes can drop a class after the 21st as they can not add another class. The last day to drop is the 28th.  Just some semester 1 stats for you. We had 56 students that had a PASS Plan meeting. Those 56 students represented 179 classes. 3 of these students either moved or transferred to the Alternative School sometime during the semester. Of the 53 students that were here, 25 of them failed at least one class. Removing the 3 students that left us, 101 of 172 grades improved after the PASS Plan meeting. 12 of the 172 grades are listed as incomplete.  During advisory on 1/20, please have the students complete the end of semester reflection and the semester 2 goal setting. On 1/27, Mrs. Isebrand will need to have a Junior class meeting to discuss everyone's favorite topic, ...

Happy Friday! It is also our last Friday of first semester. Grades will need to be finalized Tuesday before you go home. This will give Mr. Formanek a chance to enter in the no credits and then run eligibility lists. For those students who failed a class, I will need the PASS plan end of semester form filled out. That can be found on the high school professional development site.  During semester test today and Monday, please keep the students in the classroom the entire time. If they need to go to the bathroom, that is fine, but limit how many leave your room to one at a time. Again, please be flexible with our winter sport activities as basketball played late last night and wrestling will be leaving early today. Looking ahead, during advisory on 1/20, please have the students complete the end of semester reflection and the semester 2 goal setting. On 1/27, Mrs. Isebrand will need to have a Junior class meeting to discuss everyone's favorite topic, Prom. Mrs. Isebrand will s...
