Happy Friday! Just a reminder that we have our first building in-service on September 12. Make sure you review your group norms and revise if necessary. Thank you for submitting your Tier 2 plans on the team drive. Starting on November 15 Neal or I will meet with you to go over your reflection form.
The district is once again providing an EAP through Plains Area. You may be asking what is an EAP. This is an employee assistance program, the the district provides for employees. This is a confidential program where you can get assistance in dealing with a variety of issues or problems that you or an immediate family member may be experiencing. Up to 3 sessions are paid for by the district. I have more info if you would need it.
Please mark your calendars for September 29 for LEEP's annual MenU Masters. Tickets can be purchased from LEEP members or any of the local banks. This is a great event, where all the proceeds go back to the schools to help purchase materials for our students.
During our extra hour meeting on September 26, Joy Gonnerman will be joining us to talk about ENDS or Electronic Nicotine Devices. She will have some examples of JUUL devices. These are becoming more and more popular among teens. The really look like USB drives.
With homecoming quickly approaching, I want to encourage you to participate in the dress up days. The students always enjoy having the staff participate. Speaking of homecoming, Mr. Utesch and I will always enjoy the extra help at the dance. It is also a great way to work off an activity for your comp passes to attend events.
Be Extraordinary!

Reminder - New teacher duty rotation starts on Monday. Please check your duty schedule shared with you in google docs to make sure that you are aware of your duty for the next couple of weeks. We got off to a great start - thank you to all who fulfilled those spots. Morning duty - remember that students are not to be in the hallways unless they have a pass or have asked permission from a teacher to be in the hallways - all students need to report to the lunch room or senior lounge. Please remember to be on time and if someone is not showing up, let me know!
"Bulldogs Got Game" is the theme for this year's Homecoming. We will play Storm Lake on September 21st with the homecoming dance to follow. Spirit Week Days are as follows: Monday - Scrabble (mismatch), Tuesday - Life (career/college choice), Wednesday - Battle Royale (class colors: 12th - black; 11th - blue; 10th - green; 9th - pink; teachers/administrators - purple or red; support staff - yellow or red); Thursday - Cranium (nerd), Friday - Checkers/Spirit Day. Battle Royale Wednesday will also include a challenge for all grade levels. We will be asking students to donate a new pair of socks for the Sioux City Gospel Mission. Donations will be accepted in 1st-period classrooms Monday through Wednesday the week of Homecoming. A tally of participation by class level's and the number of socks donated during the week will bring bragging rights to the class that does the most!
Reminder to sign up to help out with Homecoming the week of September 17th - 21st. Sign up sheet is in the teacher's lounge and signatures are due on September 14th.
