Happy Friday! A big thank you to our Junior Class Sponsors for helping organize, set up, and chaperone prom. A even bigger thank you to Nancy Isebrand for taking charge and making sure everything was done. It was great that it was pretty much uneventful for us. Just a reminder contracts for teachers are due on May 2. Contracts for everyone else are due on May 8. I will be glad to take them, or you can send them directly to Central Office.  With the last day of school now set for May 31, we will have semester exams on May 30 and May 31. May 29 will be the students' last day of class. Students will check out that day. We will run the advisory schedule, but will use that time to clean lockers. Please be out in the hallways while this is being done. We will not sign the lockers off at that time since they will have books left for later classes. Lockers then will be checked out after lunch.  The seniors' last day of class is still May 14, then they will test on the 15th and...

Happy Friday the 13th! Another 4 day week and more snow for Saturday, sounds about normal. Hopefully everything will be melted by Monday. With all the weather issues, our spring sports have been having a fun time trying to get in their competitions and practices. As contests are rescheduled, please remain flexible with the students this is beyond their control. During Advisory on Monday, I will need the Sophomores to report to the little theater for an informational meeting regarding the Youth on Main Street program. Next Monday, April 23, I will meet with the Seniors to go over graduation, end of the year stuff, and Amy Schmidt will have them fill out their surveys. Senior advisory teachers, please have them complete their 4th qtr mid term reflections this Monday, everyone else can do it the 23rd. They should be in your mailboxes. On April 24th, Ryan Wise, the Iowa Director of DOE will be visiting our district. I will be taking him around the building that morning. He wants to v...

Happy Friday! I hope everyone enjoyed the extended Spring break. I do not know what this snow day will do to the boards decision on the last day of school. It is back in the agenda for the meeting on April 11.  We do have Iowa Assessments next week on Tuesday thru Thursday. Students will be taking them in their advisory classroom. Teachers that have Seniors may be asked to help read the math or science portions to special education or ELL students. Other dates to keep in mind, mid-term for 4th quarter is on April 18. Grades should be updated by 8:00 am on that day. Prom is April 21. Also next week we have our extra hour meeting at 7:00 am on Wednesday. As we make our final push please remember it is just as critical to contact parents of students who are starting to slip, especially if he/she is a senior. I do have a handful of seniors that I am tracking that are in jeopardy of not graduating. I may email you about those kids to get a better picture of where they currently...
