  Happy Friday! I hope everyone has enjoyed their first full week back after Christmas break. Didn't think I would be typing that on January 25.  Last night we had our 8th grade parent registration meeting. Attendance was not bad, we did record the meeting so that will be available to parents who were unable to attend.  During our CIA meeting on Wednesday we discussed the academic honesty and retake policy for honor classes. I plan on sharing this document with you in the next couple of weeks to get your feedback. I realize that everyone has different thoughts and beliefs, so I will not get unanimous vote on it, but the goal is to come up with a policy that we all can work with. This is all new to us, so as we move through this process, some changes may need to be made. I think it is good to reflect back on these types of things after a year and ask am I happy with these results? Were there any consequences of our policy that I did not consider? Happy Friday! Hopefully we are done with our weather days. Unofficially, our last day of school will now be May 29.  I have been asked by a couple of teachers about PASS Plans and extending the plans from first semester. I will allow this again, please include me in the communication home so I can document that the plan was extended. In your email home, ask for a read receipt so you know the parent received the email. If you don't get the read receipt, I ask that you call the parent so they are made aware.  Thank you for your input last Wednesday regarding our Honors Program. I will be working on building policy regarding academic dishonesty, retakes, and grading. Once I have this done, I will share it with you. I also plan to have a parent meeting for those that are interested in the honors program. This date is yet to be determined. Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great start to the new year. As we begin 2nd semester, we are also starting the registration process for the 2024-2025 school year. On January 17, we will be hosting the 8th graders up here for CTE day.  I am working on identifying the 9th grade students, who are currently eligible, for the honors program. I will be sending a letter home to those students explaining what the honors program is and why they should register for those classes.  As we start second semester, it is important to get students started in the right direction. For those students who struggled first semester, please don't wait too long to reach out to their parents to make arrangements to get extra help. We do have room in the success center during a few periods, so also don't be afraid to refer students to Adam or I to be placed in the success center.
