Please make sure you have verified your grades, please follow these instructions: Choose the class from the Class Selector. Choose the reporting term from the Term Selector. On the bottom of the Traditional Grades, Standards Grades, or Comment Verification page, click Final Grade Status. Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a good week. Thank you for your work during in-service this week; lots of good discussions were taking place regarding assessments. Please keep these discussions going. This is how we will continue to grow as a staff. At our CIA meeting we were discussing our next district in-service time and wrapping everything together.  For those of you who have been asking how do I get tier 2 time into my weekly schedule next in-service will provide some insight. Remember tier 1 is having grade level instruction for all students. This is what you are doing everyday, whether it is during guided practice or independent practice time or it could be when instruction is taking place. You are providing all students that grade level, rigorous curriculum.  Hopefully the ISASP data is here on November 4, then we will also spend part of the next in-service analyzing our data.  Next Friday, October 25 is the end of the quarter. Grades will be due Tuesd...

Happy Friday! What a week! We knocked out the second day of conferences and school pictures. A big thank you for your flexibility with the extra kids in the building on Thursday. We were lucky enough to be able to host a remote site for the Ed Thomas Leadership Academy. This allowed our students in the Lead Dog group to all attend the workshop and not have to travel to Parkersburg or Des Moines. A thanks to Gabe Davis for setting this up and working through all the logistics of making this happen.  I will be gone Monday to a workshop in Orange City. If you need a sub Monday morning please call Mr. Formanek.  The Big Red Band will be performing this weekend in Sheldon at the State Marching Band Festival at 2:00 pm. They will also be performing at the Dutchman Field Championships in Orange City at 6:00 pm. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and warm up for them.  We do have in-service on Wednesday. Everyone will report to the library and CIA will finish up going o...

Happy Friday! We made it through night 1 of conferences, night 2 will be on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:30 pm. This is a great time to schedule a PASS Plan meeting. So far, I have not had any turned into me. Remember that these need to be done prior to 2nd quarter midterm. I have been going through the Fierce Conversations class through the AEA to renew my evaluator license. I have learned a lot about myself and the ways I have handled different types of conversations. I have found that I have some of my own behaviors to work on to become better at this skill. My biggest behavior to work on is turning off everything else so I can be present for you when we are having a conversation. I would like to apologize to any of you who may have felt that I wasn't fully engaged when we have talked. Looking ahead, we have an extra hour meeting on the 9th and our district inservice on the 16th. On October 10, the high school will be a satellite for the Ed Thomas Leadership Workshop that is in ...
