Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. It is nice to get homecoming past us. As we hit midterm of 1st quarter, we may start seeing some increase in unwanted behavior as students are becoming more comfortable. Please stay on top of them and if they do something that we don't want them to do, please handle it right away. By not handling it you are inadvertently sending the message to the rest of the students that it is ok to do this. If you are on duty, please make sure you are at your spot at the designated time. If you are running late for some reason, let Mr. Utesch or myself know so we can try to cover. We can't have areas unsupervised.  Just a few reminders for next week. We have parent/teacher conferences on Monday and Thursday. No extra hour meeting, but you do need to meet in your PLC group. Please make sure someone from your group uploads the minutes onto the team drive for your department.  On Tuesday, Juniors will be taking the Iowa Youth Survey. This will ...

Happy Homecoming Friday! Classes will run normal until 4th period. Then all students will be dismissed. The pep rally/coronation begins at 1:00 pm with the parade following at 2:15.  During advisory on Monday, please have the students complete the 1st quarter midterm reflection. It will be on the backside of the goal sheet they filled out during the first week of school. Teachers that have Juniors will need to do this next week as we are having a Junior class meeting to kick off their prom fundraiser. Just a reminder, 1st quarter mid-term is Monday. Please make sure grades are updated over the weekend and progress reports will be sent home on Monday. This would be a good time to start arranging PASS plan meetings for students at risk. I would call and try to set up meetings during conferences on Oct. 1 and 4. Those will run from 5:00 to 8:30 pm.  On Tuesday, Dr. Webner will be giving a tour to Senator Jim Carlin at 1:30 pm. We also have our 2nd building meeting next we...

Happy Friday! It is a little weird to have a Friday in September with no high school football game tonight. Next week is homecoming, please remain patient with the students this week as they will have lots of distractions. We want to continue to push the students and keep increasing our expectations from them. Midterm is quickly approaching. It is on September 24, so grades will be due at 8:30 that morning. You should start to have a feel for if a student is going to be at risk of failing your class. Please do not wait until 2nd quarter to do PASS Plans. Send me an invite and I will try to make it to the meeting this year.  Thank you to the departments that have uploaded their PLC meeting forms. I have posted comments to some of them where there were questions or other comments that caught my attention. Please take the time to go back and see if I left any for your department. If you want me to come to your PLC meeting, please let me know. I like to leave this agenda up to you so...

Happy Friday! Just a reminder that we have our first building in-service on September 12. Make sure you review your group norms and revise if necessary. Thank you for submitting your Tier 2 plans on the team drive. Starting on November 15 Neal or I will meet with you to go over your reflection form.  The district is once again providing an EAP through Plains Area. You may be asking what is an EAP. This is an employee assistance program, the the district provides for employees. This is a confidential program where you can get assistance in dealing with a variety of issues or problems that you or an immediate family member may be experiencing. Up to 3 sessions are paid for by the district. I have more info if you would need it. Please mark your calendars for September 29 for LEEP's annual MenU Masters. Tickets can be purchased from LEEP members or any of the local banks. This is a great event, where all the proceeds go back to the schools to help purchase materials for our studen...
