Happy Friday! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the unexpected short week. Nothing messes things up more than having time off in the middle of the week.  The basketball games that were scheduled for Tuesday were moved to Saturday. I believe the girls will play at 2 and the boys around 4. This will just be varsity games that day.  Wednesday, Feb. 1 we will have our extra hour meeting that was originally scheduled for Jan. 25. Please continue to work on your curriculum from district in-service.  With the snow days, I will move midterm to 2/14. For those of you who have trimester classes the last day of trimester 2 will stay 2/23.  As we get into 3rd quarter, please do not wait too long to have PASS plans if you see a student who is already at risk. Most of the time, behaviors won't change without a little pressure. It is better to put that pressure on earlier than to wait for them to be in a big hole. When you have these meetings, please make sure to get me a...

Happy Friday! This turned into a shorter week than planned. Thank you for your help in getting the technology numbers for the Board Retreat on Monday. They will be hearing from different groups in regards to how technology is being used in class. Eventually they will make a decision on what to do next in regards to technology in the classroom. Here are the totals so you know how the high school student responded.  1. 525 students have access to a desktop or laptop computer at home. 2. 432 students have access to a tablet or Ipad at home. 3. 541 students have their own personal smartphone with access to the internet. 4. 552 students have internet access at home. 5. 572 students use a technology device at home on a daily basis. 6. 441 students use a technology device in a classroom setting on a daily basis. During advisory on Monday have the students complete the semester 1 reflection and set goals for semester 2. We will not watch a video that day so they can complete the...

Happy Friday! We made it through first semester! Just a reminder that grades are due Monday at 8:30. If a student failed your class, please turn in your final summary of the PASS Plan to me at that time also. I will store grades at that time and Beth and Amy will run report cards.  As we start second semester, students have 5 days to add a class and 10 days to drop. So the last day to add is January 20 with the last day to drop as January 27. After the 20th, the only students that will be allowed to drop are those taking 7 classes.  Monday during Advisory, please remember to do the technology survey with your students. Just read the question to the students and have them raise their hand. Do not have them take it individually. When you are done, please send it to the office with at student. Make sure your name is on top so we can track the classes. Also during advisory, have the students fill out the 1st semester reflections and the 2nd semester goals. I have a Lakes C...

Happy Friday! I hope your first Friday of 2017 goes without a hitch.  Just a few reminders for the next week. We will have a video during advisory on Monday. Next week we also have semester tests. Periods 1, 2, 5, and 6 are on Wednesday and periods 3, 4, 7, and 8 are on Thursday. Friday is a make up day for those students who are absent on Wednesday or Thursday. Students will need to take their test during their assigned period. Please do not move students to other periods. Also, the students will need to stay in the room the entire testing period unless they have made arrangements through Neal or myself. Grades will be due on 1/16 at 8:30 am, so Beth and Amy may run report cards. As second semester gets started, remember students have 5 days to add a class and 10 to drop. Students must be enrolled in 6 classes in addition to PE.  We have our extra hour meeting Wednesday next week also. Please continue working on your curriculum.  On January 17, the DE is having a...
